What can I do for iron deficiency anemia?
Can somebody please tell me what else I can do for iron deficiency anemia?? I have had iron infusions and tried every iron pill I know of. Nothing helps! I am so tired all the time. My iron level is at a 6 right now and even doctors can't tell me why my body won't absorb the iron I take in. Help!!

Can you do a slow release iron supplement?
I take Iron supplements for mine. They really help.
I took iron supplements for one month since my doctor recommended it. I also ate chicken livers once a week (8 ounce servings) for one month. I cooked them and made them with hard boiled egg and mayonaise for about six weeks. My iron has always been on the low side of normal range but went below that after having thyroid surgery. I had a hard time digesting the iron that was recommended by the doctor so I switched to the iron that is supposed to be gentle on the stomach. Now I just have one red meat meal a week to maintain the iron levels.
I’m taking a slow release now.
I’ve never had Covid I stayed home so much that I have not gotten it yet. I’m still going to check it out for the information. You never know.
Hi, I'm curious to hear how you're doing today if you don't mind giving us an update? I've been dealing with erythrocytosis and low ferritin myself and it's hard to find any information on long term prognosis for people with this condition. Hope you're doing well.
