Amiodarone and ivabradine for VT
Does any one has experience with amiodarone and ivabradine for VT? I have been suffering with VT for almost a year and have had 3 ablations, with the latest one an epicardial ablation. VT events has decreases but have constant PVCs and short of breath. Your advice is appreciated.

We can give you our experience with this. Amiodarone (I took once for couple of months) is very strong medication and comes with some toxicity that you need to be aware of. Talk to your cardiologist about that.
Are you seeing a electrophysiologist (EP). If not and you have access to one you should. They are expertes in electrical functions of heart.
The constand PVCs are how many? Do you ever count them. Say like take your pulse for 10 beats and then count the number of PVCs? Have you advised your cardiologist of the constant PVCs? 3 ablations is a lot. Did they help? Did your doctor advise what was causing you to have such high level of PVCs that ablation was needed?
VT is serious and probably why the amiodarone was given. Are you under a lot of stress? How is your weight and fitness?
Based on my experience with PVCs, VT, and past use of amiodarone I would advise if you are not seeing a EP to see one. But for now make sure your doctors know about your constant PVCs and shortness of breath.
@jc76 thanjs for your reply here. I am under the care of a EP and also a cardiologist. The PVCs showed after the last ablation back in May. I never counted them but believe they could go about 2 for every 10 beats. Thanks God I haven’t had any more episodes of VT for the last month and a half and the PVCs has decreased in frequency after I started to take CoQ10 and L-Carnitine combo, which were approved by my cardiologist and EP respectively. During my recent visit to the cardiologist, she decided to add ivabradine to my medicines and decreased the amiodarone dose from 200 mg/2 day to 100 mg/2 day, hence the question of combining both as I read some conflicting information about taking them together. Some said is good, some others say to go with caution.

You got the specialist you need.
Because I was on Amiodarone for a while for VFIB episodes and hospitalized. It was the cardiologist in hospital who put me on it not my EP. I asked my EP to wean me off of it as I read so much information on toxicity of it. Ask your EP to go over the toxicity of the Amiodarone. I have read low doses don't have a much toxicity as a higher dose but have to add here that is not part of my expereience or knowledge I can pass on.
My PVCs are right where yours were. I count mine sometimes to see how I am doing. Asked your cardilogist or EP about taking magnesium. My EP at Mayo asked me to take it to see if helps with PVCs. Again my caveat that this was a comment to me and may not be in your best interest so check with your doctors before adding any supplements.
Has either your cardiologist or EP discussed an ICD or an ICD/pacemaker regarding VT?
I have not heard on MCC the ivabradine being mentioned nor heard about it from my cardiologist or EP. So really have no personal knowledge of it nor taking it. Regarding the amiodarone it is a very strong and powerful medicine that works. However it does have toxicity known issues but again I am not sure about low doses that you are on versus the high dose I was put on while in hospital and continued for a couple of months until my EP slowly weaned me off of it. Just as a footnote I did about a year ago have some episodes of VTAC and they put me on a new medicine that I take every 8 hours. It really worked and for me have not had a VTAC episode since been on it (knocking on wood as I type this).
Thanks for your time to read and reply with your personal experience. I do have an ICD that was implanted last September. I have been doing good for some time and then take a couple of steps back when The arritmias appears again. Thai is why my EP decided to do an epicardial ablation last May and things are getting better
