I didn't drink while I had drug-induced lupus, but I can only imagine that it would have made me feel more horrible than I already felt. I'm not sure how it interacts with lupus medications.

I learned from Mayo that alcohol can be improperly-metabolized by the human body due to genetic issues. A symptom is if you get rosy cheeks after you drink it. If this happens to you like it does me, you may want to avoid it.

I am having to avoid alcohol altogether. I have yeast invasive and lung lesion ad well as lupus/ra and psoriatic arthritis. Right before my lupus diagnosed i drank one wine spritzer causing red face and blood pressure to go high. But worse was the mouth burning and two wks to get over it. My doctor gave me antfungal in hopes i can have an occasiobal as only did anyway but now just avoid it.
