Airway in upper lobe closing up after lower lobe lobectomy

I’m sorry you’re going through such a difficult time, it sounds really bad, I think perhaps you need to seek more help from another lung specialist and have more tests done. It’s possible that you may have an infection in the lobe because of all the ground glass seen on the scan and mucous in your airway, I definitely don’t feel comfortable with your doctor, did the doctor say that more tests should be done to find out what is causing this problem?

hi @felix536 - I had a collapsed lung after my bronchoscopy and it truly sucked. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that. have you been given any treatment to help it heal? I had to have a chest tube and hospital stay for a few days. I agree with @frouke that it would be worth consulting another doctor - either a pulmonolgist or oncologist, to see what is causing the issue in your left lung and put together a treatment plan to address it.

do you live in an area that has been impacted by wildfire smoke? (I'm going to make a separate post about that, but it's super unhealthy - especially for people with lung disease like us.)

I understand what you have experienced. I have a trapped lung, when my tumour was radiated two years ago caused scar tissue on my airway so I can only access my left lung. It took and continues to take getting use of it. Talking about wildfires, I stay indoors as much as possible but if I went out I used my portable oxygen and a N95 masks. Everyone just the faith and live large.
