After TURP surgery what is percent who get retrograde ejaculation?
I just had TURP for second time in a year and was told I could get retrograde ejaculation. I have not been released for sex or masturbation yet, but I am getting seminal fluid from my penis currently so could this mean I may not get retrograde ejaculation? Just a little concerned as I still have a few weeks of waiting.

Not necessarily. Seeing some fluid come out now doesn't rule out retrograde ejaculation later. Before you've been cleared for sexual activity, the fluid you notice may be normal postoperative drainage or secretions and isn't the same as a true ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation is only really apparent after orgasm, when semen flows backward into the bladder instead of out through the penis. After a TURP, some men still have a small amount of semen come out, while others have little or none. The only way to know for sure is after you've healed and your urologist has cleared you to resume sexual activity. If preserving fertility is important to you, it's worth discussing that with your urologist at your follow-up appointment. For now, following the recommended waiting period gives your prostate and urinary tract the best chance to heal.
