Has anyone had increased shortness of breath (dyspnea) at rest when taking Casodex and/or the Eligard injection?

I walk a mile on the track across the street twice every day. I started drinking electrolytes before going out and I can run around the track the whole time without any breathing problems. If I don’t drink the electrolytes, I can only run halfway around the track and I have to walk for a little while and then I can run again.

It really surprise me how much electrolytes helped.

@jeffmarc YES to electrolytes. As a marathoner, I find they're absolutely essential, especially to prevent cramping. They are the secret sauce in Gatorade and some other athletic drinks. And as we're challenged to stay active on ADT, electrolytes deserve even more attention.

Often the red blood cell count is lower as an ADT side effect. One of the side effects of low Red Blood cells is shortness of breath. Something to check.

When I switched to Orgovyx My hot flashes went away for five months. Then they returned as eager as ever to make me uncomfortable.

After five or six years on Lupron, I would catch myself having to breathe deeply occasionally. Just a weird shortness of breath even on Lupron. Another one of the ADT side effects.

@jeffmarc I've been on Eligard shots every six months plus daily Abiraterone and prednisone, and I too have noticed increased shortness of breath. I also have emphysema, but my pulmonologist does not think my mild emphysema should be causing as much of the breathing issues I'm having. My heart is fine. I think ADT can cause SOB.

I agree. I am sure this ADT treatment has contributed to my SOB.
