I received a first dose of Adstiladrin on 7/26/24. Side effects during first 24 hours included fever, chills, body aches, and fatigue, which abated after 72 hours. I will schedule a blue light cystoscopy in about eight weeks to assess progress against NMIBC/CIS.
just had my first dose 6/25/25. It took about 6 hours for all the side effects to come forward and and they came in HARD -4 days later still affecting me. I only lasted 20 mins after drug instillation, that was hard. So Sept will see with scope check brings
informed today that I need to pick up some meds to take so I can refrain from peeing too soon after instillation of Adstiladrin, Anybody know what that is?

I didn't receive any such meds after my first treatment. This is the first I've heard about them. I was treated (bladder filled with Adstiladrin), stayed in the doctor's office for an hour with my ability to pee prevented by a clamping device, then I was allowed to pee and was sent home.

@rjlpool502 You are correct to question your doctor's recommendation as to why he feels it might work this time. Taking charge of your medical care is necessary to receive the best of care. Perhaps a second opinion at this point? Adstiladrin was recently approved for bladder cancer that is nonresponsive to BCG and non muscle invasive. I would certainly ask your doctor about it. I don't know the percentages of success/failure, sorry. Good luck to you and remember that a second opinion, especially from a large cancer center or referral hospital is a valuable tool. My husband was unable to try this treatment as it was not approved yet, and now lives with a neobladdder, but so far cancer free.
Starting my first Adstiladrin session on July 9th. Hopeful-----3 scrapings in the last 15 months. A total of 18 BCG--DARN STUFF JUST KEEPS COMING BACK.
The cancer was found on January 24, 2025, and I received the first Adstiladrin treatment on March 20, 2025. I had the initial TURBT for low-grade NMIBC in January 2024, Mitomycin and BCG through the spring, remission by June 2024, then discovery of high-grade, NMIBC CIS in January 2025 for which I did not have surgery, but received the Adstiladrin.

they want me to take Gemtesa already 3 days before appointment
The drug they prescribed for me was oxybutinen It calms bladder spasms. I take it 2 hrs before procedure

How difficult has the neobladder proven to be?
So helpful to hear a positive--good luck!

How long after surgery did you have the first treatment?
