Acne Medication

Hey,

I recently stumbled upon this product online (www.organiclearskin.com).

I was wondering how effective tea tree oil/ aloe vera is for acne. It also has salicylic acid and mirconized benzoyl peroxide. Not sure what that is.

Hi @glani and welcome to Connect.

I wanted to share some information on Tea tree oil as well as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide before you decide what product to use for acne.

Here is some more information on tea tree oil: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements-tea-tree-oil/art-20364246

Here is a Mayo Clinic page on Salicylic Acid, both it's descriptions as well as warnings prior to use: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/salicylic-acid-topical-route/description/drg-20066030

Here is the same for benzoyl peroxide: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/benzoyl-peroxide-topical-route/description/drg-20062425

From my personal experience, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are two very common active ingredients in different face washes. It's different for everyone but with my skin, I've found that salicylic acid causes breakouts, but benzoyl peroxide works the best at eliminating and preventing acne.

Is this something you have spoken to a dermatologist about or are you researching different options first?
