Cancer and working with integrative medicine

Posted by dpcarriere @dpcarriere, Feb 28, 2022

Given - this group has cancers. And with those cancers come a myriad of solutions to resolve those cancers. And with the solutions come the side effects that in many cases are as bad as the cancer itself. Perhaps, just perhaps, there may be a way out. Not another path to remove the cancer, that's not what I'm referring to. A pathway to lessen the side effects - a resounding YES.
Let me introduce the group to my latest findings. I introduce you to Integrative Medicine.

This is all brand new to me and I find it exciting. When Mayo Clinic is involved with a proceedure I give it credence. I found Integrative Medicine at Mayo Clinic and am now under the care of one of Mayo's Integrative Medicine Practicioners, a Doctor of Integrative Medicine. I'm pumped and so will you be also. It's going to open a new world for you and it will help you with the pains and nasty after effects of our cancer solutions. Integrative Medicine.

It's too involved for an in depth discussion at the moment so you will have to do your research, then we can all participate. Ask your physicians, some will be clueless. Remember Google is your friend. Along the path to your new learnings you will be introduced to another of our human systems - the Endocannabinoid System. The researchers among us will have a field day here. I've just learned of it myself. Research, research, research. This is going to benefit us ALL.

@dpcarriere, I added this great discussion topic to the Cancer (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cancer/) and Cancer: Managing Symptoms (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cancer-managing-symptoms/) groups as well. I think this will be of interest to many.

Here's a link to more information about Mayo Clinic's Integrative Medicine programs
- Integrative Medicine and Health https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/integrative-medicine-health/sections/overview/ovc-20464567

One of my all time favorite websites is the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) https://www.nccih.nih.gov/
In the health info A-Z section you can look up any treatment, therapy, supplement, etc and find out more about how it is used, it's safety and what the evidence says about how it can help or be harmful.

For anyone not sure about the terms integrative, complementary or alternative medicine, start with this article:
- Complementary, Alternative, or Integrative Health: What’s In a Name? https://www.nccih.nih.gov/health/complementary-alternative-or-integrative-health-whats-in-a-name

@dpcarriere, have you had an appointment with Integrative Medicine yet? What did you learn?

@dpcarriere Yes, I'd like to know if you'd had your appointment yet? I have an appointment with Integrative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester at the end of April. What can I expect at that appointment?

Yes Colleen I have just begun working with a Dr of Integrative Medicine at one of the Mayo Scottsdale campuses. This is opening an entire new world for me. I have had only one appt so it's far too early to assess it's effectiveness but the possibilities are endless and it's up to each to work their way. Basically the doctor acts as your guide. You determine your pathway and so each needs to be aware of the pathways to meet your insividual needs. I find this exceedingly exciting.

I am in agreeance with you that this needs to be presented to ALL. I would be more than happy to co-present this extrodinary finding. We should discuss a methodology that would be most effective. As a side are you aware of the works of Dr D'Andre at Mayo Rochester? It all fits in.

Helen you can expect a whole new world to open up for you. This excites me to the bone. I have only had a single appt at Mayo Scottsdale here in Arizona and I'm thoroughly excited. See my response to Colleen. Helen please keep my informed as to what you take away from your appointment. Will you be working with Dr D'Andre at Rochester? Her work is brilliant, you are fortunate to be with Rochester. But then we are all fortunate to be with any of the Mayo campuses as they all are involved with Integrative Medicine.

@dpcarriere. Yes, my appointment is with Dr. D'Andre. I'm so curious about this appointment and what it will bring.

I will be back at Mayo for a 3 month cancer surveillance and the appointment with Dr. D'Andre will be the final appointment during that visit. I will have the opportunity talk to her about what I've been through over the past few months and the results of that visit.

I had an itchy rash on my forearms and legs that happened five days after two vaginal brachytherapy sessions. I'd never had anything like that before and I wondered if it was somehow related to my body's reactions to what was introduced "into" me during those sessions. Like ridding my body of the toxins? The radiation oncology team said "no". I did see a dermatologist who treated the rash and also had nothing to say about such a cause. It lasted for about a month and the rash is gone. But I wonder what Dr. D'Andre will say about the rash?

Yes, I'm very grateful that I'm getting my care at Mayo Clinic.

Another you say?

Sit back, relax and live a better life – you can do it right now. No waiting in line. Look at the revolutionary work of Dr. Stacy D’Andre at Mayo Clinic Rochester.

Then look at the revolutionary work of Dr. Andre Terzic also at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Terzic is working on making you a new one. Yep, a new one. Or if not new then perhaps a rebuild. Dr. Terzic is the expert in the field of Regenerative Medicine.

OK, OK, what’s going on here is the question and the answer is LOTS.

Dr. D’Andre can ease your pains. She will educate you on the Endocannabinoid System. She works little miracles. Were you to be so fortunate as to be under her care, or others like her, your pains just may be reduced to nil. All those pains and aches and nausea and nasty side effects of therapy can be minimized. It’s kind of an integrative thing where your whole body is involved in getting things back to where they used to be. Or maybe even a little bit better.

Dr. Terzic is working on miracles of his own. Remember all those articles on stem cells and their regenerative capabilities. Well Dr. Terzic is rewriting that entire book. Forget what you thought you knew. Those old articles were just teasers. It’s now new and improved. Kinda like the new you. One of these days someone will take a little piece of you. Modify it, rework it, make it work like new and put it back into you, all new and ready to go. No, no, it’s not here yet. Not yet. But Dr Terzic is working on just that.

So why not let Dr. D’Andre ease your pains while we wait for Dr. Terzic to replace those old faulty parts.

@dpcarriere thanks for sharing such fascinating work going on in the space of regenerative medicine and medical oncology at Mayo Clinic! The amount of research that is conducted is simply amazing.

What is your personal experience with Dr. Stacy D’Andre and Dr. Andre Terzic?
