8 mm mass near foraman of monro.

Hi, I have been having an issue with my bp being all over the place and my pulse 95% is tachy 100+ resting. I have been having these stabbing pains on the right side and back of my head when I go from sitting to standing which only last for a few moments and headaches when I get up in the morning. A few weeks ago I got up and walked towards the stairs I got really dizzy and the next thing I remember is laying on the bottom of the stairs crying cause I hit my head. My short term memory has been off for the past couple months I have noticed. I just have a blank while doing things and can’t remember what I was doing and after a minute or so it will come to me. My dr ordered an MRI and it came back showing a 8 mm irregular, enhancing mass near the foreman of monro. The radiologist said it could be an aneurysm, meningioma, or other neoplastic process. He recommended a ct angio and an appt with a neurosurgeon. I had my ct angio yesterday and it is not an aneurysm. I go to see a neurologist and then neurosurgeon at Mayo on Tuesday. I am so worried I am just 40 and I have 3 kids and one graduates high school at the end of May. My mind is going a million miles a minute with what ifs! Just wondering if anyone else has gone through anything similar.

I think it’s the unknown that is so unsettling. I’ve had a couple people from the town I live in go to Mayo for their cancer treatment and I have heard nothing but good things about things so that’s why I just got an appointment there right away. Now that you say that about a neurologist, I am seeing a neuro oncologist before the neurosurgeon. I was a little freaked out about the title but like you said they see benign and malignant. Did the radiation stop yours from growing?

@dbeigel, do I have the timeline right - is your appointment tomorrow? Sending you strength and courage. Will you have someone to go with you?

Yes today at 12:45 I see neuro oncologist and then neurosurgeon after him if they feel we need to operate they said. I’m nervous and worried….I am trying to think positive but as you probably know that’s easier said than done. My husband is going with me thankfully. That is something i am very grateful for…..if it is something bad I do I have a lot of family support near me to help me or help out with my kids if I can’t. Thanks for the well wishes, it means a lot.
