7 months post TKR and intense pain doing stairs.

Had robotic TKR 7 months ago. Have great flexion and range of motion but intense pain doing stairs and up and down from sitting position. I can walk okay without pain, however. Surgeon did X-ray and said all looks fine.
He sent me to pain management for genicular ablation test which I failed. Most NSAIDS don't work so very frustrated. Any suggestions?

I am 4 years out from replacements in both knees. Pain began about a year after. Surgeon x rayed, all fine, sent for nuclear bone test, fine, no infection. I too still have great range of motion, but the pain keeps worsening. I had genicular nerve blocks, no result. Pain management did a lidocaine injection in my back, nothing. Seemingly ruling out nerves. Pain management said a nerve stimulator was my last option, suggested I have CRPS due to hypersensitivity in kneecaps. I am having GAE on 7/21 and am hoping we have solved this mystery. I am going to a vascular clinic for the procedure. Read up on this and see if it seems logical. Best of luck to you.

Thank you. I would like to hear how you are feeling after the procedure. It sounds extremely promising from the research I have done.

Do you do any glute or hip strengthening exercise?

Where is the pain, inside the joint or on the side of the leg somewhere. There are a lot of tendon attachments around the joint. The IT band insertion point just below the knee on the outer side is one that gets inflamed and hurts a lot when doing stairs and standing up from a sitting position. Ask a lot of questions! Good luck!

Not in the joint. Across the knee cap, I first thought of patellar tendon. Ruled so much out. Hoping the GAE offers some relief. No pain meds or topical lidocaine offers relief 😢
