61 and now have night sweats?
Hi there, I had my last period in July 2016 so almost 10 years ago! I never had hot flashes or night sweats but have dealt with vaginal issues and do use vaginal estradiol which helps.
Starting this January, I have had night sweats which is a first for me (I historically am cold at night). Coincidentally, I had been dealing with a respiratory virus and some low grade fevers, so assumed it was that. My PCP did run bloodwork to make sure nothing was awry - it was normal.
Clearly, I will follow up with my doctor, but curious if anyone can relate to this? In addition to being bothersome, I tend to worry about health stuff so trying to be reasonable! Thank you!

I think that I would be curious about it too. I might still explore potential causes like certain medications, also…did he check your blood sugar? Low blood sugar can cause profuse sweating. You can check your own with a blood meter too. I believe that anxiety used to cause my mom to sweat a lot, but not sure it was during the night.
I hope you can figure it out.
I thought of something else. Have you done any outdoor work or hobbies near rivers or lakes? Did they test your lungs? Bacteria and fungus infections in the lungs can cause night sweats. I might ask them about that.
Hi. No, I have not but I also had a chest x-ray to rule out walking pneumonia and all was clear. All this started when I had a respiratory virus that left me with a bad, dry, lingering cough so my PCP wanted to be sure my lungs were ok.
@idbs , I’m not sure how that works….like the best tests. I hope someone else around here might know. I would definitely see it through though.
