50% colon left: hook it back up or live with the ileostomy?

I am 80 years old currently have ileostomy, I don't like it but I'm learning. I have 50% of my colon left and have a choice, hook it back up or live with the ileostomy. I sure do not want to live my life in a diaper! Thoughts? Thanks, Terry

A little gas from time to time. I empty my ileostomy pouch 7 to 8 times daily and 50% of those are liquid.

I would suggest talking to a WOCN and see if they can connect you with someone who has the same situation. The WOCN would probably be able to answer some questions because they see colostomy patients who have a partial colon.
