3 years NED: Scanxiety remains a real thing!

Posted by kenhorse @kenhorse, May 20 9:32am

I just got the results of my 3 year + (RLL lobectomy done April of 2023) with no recurrence and a few stable nodules. I've also graduated from scans every 6 months to once every year.

I must say scanziety remains a real thing!

Thanks for sharing the great news @kenhorse! Wishing you many more years of NED scans.
I had my every four-month CTs yesterday, and all is stable. Yay. I'm finding that I have more anxiety around breast cancer scans than my lung scans, and my lung cancer is metastatic. I think the difference is that I feel more educated about the lung cancer and have steps in place for when I face a lung recurrence. I have more unknowns with the breast cancer side of things. I have an oncology appointment today, so it sounds like I've come up with a good topic of discussion. 🙂

@lls8000 Great news on YOUR scans! As I've posted before, I dealt with both prostate and lung cancer (the lung was an incidental finding when I had a PSME scan for the prostate).

I'm running out of fingers to cross!

Great news, congratulations! Yes, scanziety is real. I had surgery in January so my first CT scan is scheduled for July 7. I just have to put it out of my mind and try not to worry.
