2mg prednisone and low blood pressure

I have hypertension. Trying to get off the prednisone. Recently getting low BP readings. Sometimes crazy low. At first I was blowing it off to instrument malfunctioning but now I don't know what to think. I take metoprolol for SVTs with breakfast. With dinner I take 50mg losartan and in the evening I take 25 mg losartan. I once took 100mg losartan, There have been studies reporting that taking BP meds later in the day is better. Splitting 75mg into 50 and 25mg was working for me. I take my BP before dinner.
Maybe my adrenals are not functioning and 2mg is not enough prednisone.
Maybe I don't need that 25mg evening losartan.
Maybe I should drink more water.
When I get low BP readings I wait and take it again and it's always a little higher. Then I debate with myself if I should take the losartan and how much.
I need to reach out to 'the Dr.' My pcp, the rheumatologist, or the cardiologist?
This pmr is such a problem.
I started PT last week for hip OA. I made the hip appointment when I was tapering from 3 to 2mg and the hip/ stairs issues was painful. Hips, upper legs are now better, not 100% but a lot less painful.

I was diagnosed with PMR in October 2025. At the time I was taking 50mg of Losartan daily and the Dr put me on 10mg prednisone. That dosage of prednisone worked for awhile then I began having symptoms of GCA so my prednisone was increased over a few months to my highest dose of prednisone at 60mg daily in February. My blood pressure began to sky rocket at that point so the Dr increased my Losartan to 100mg/day. As my symptoms improved my daily dosage of prednisone was being reduced by 10mg every 2 weeks. In June, my prednisone intake was down to 8mg/day and with that, my blood pressure was becoming too low. I mentioned this to my Dr and he had me cut back my Losartan to 50mg/day. Since then, my blood pressure has gone back to normal. So it seems you should contact your Dr and let him know that your blood pressure is getting low. More than likely he will cut back your Losartan since you are also taking less prednisone. The more Prednisone you take the greater risk your blood pressure increases, which is what happened to me. Reducing prednisone should reduce blood pressure thus allowing you to reduce your losartan intake. Good Luck to you!
