10 weeks out after TKR

I am doing my PT religiously, after TKR but I am having swelling after excercise; should I keep doing my excercises? Did my exercises in the morning for an hour and then walked .8 tenths of a mile, drove around for half and hour, sat for 2 hours and my knee and calf are swollen; so should I do my excercises or just rest. the swelling goes down at night but in the morning my leg is stiff and when I sit for morning coffee it swells up again. No pain but dis-comfort. How long is this going to go on? still havve 6 weeks of therapy which will put me at 3 months. thanks

I had my TKR December 1., had my follow up with with my orthopedic surgeon this week. My foot and knee swells over day as well, if I am on my feet most of the day, my knee is warm and stiff between . He told me to continue exercising, I ice between, leg high. The inflammation can stay for up to six months. I do water aerobics and Chair yoga again to stay fluid and continue to take Celecoxib 200 mg for another 2 weeks.

I apply ice after exercise and sometimes before bedtime. I had my tkr in July. I can still see some swelling now and the knee is stiff and sore in the morning but that discomfort now goes away very quickly. Probably best to check with your PT.
