Has anyone had sinus issues and tinnitus from Covid long haul

Posted by hoser11 @hoser11, Oct 27, 2023

I have had sinus issues and tinnitus since contracting covid three years ago in December of 2020, I have been taking allergy shots for about a year and half now still have sinus issues and clogged Eustachian tubes, any ideas.

I am healthy enough to ride a bike three times a week and play golf, but the tinnitus comes and goes but like you i had mild symptoms from covid and that was three years ago. I am in two long haul covid clinics one in Cincinnati medical center where I live and one with Cleveland clinic I am going to the head doctor for the covid clinic this week when I am going to propose a regimen of steroids prednisone for a period of close to a month I will let you know how it goes because I saw a new ENT six months ago and when he put the camera up my nose he said to a colleague see that big blob and told me that my condition was totally fixable and it was in my head and not in my head like I was not imagining it, so after tendays of steroids and antibiotics i went back to him and had a CT scan he came in and you all better now whereas the blob of mucous was supposedly gone my ears were still clogged and now I believe it has come back again, so go figure.

Before I had covid I didn't have a primary care doc or anything. Pretty much only time I'd go to the doctor was if I couldn't stop the bleeding myself lol.
Maybe I just don't know how to relay the problems I'm having to him or something or it takes time, but so far he's just renewed my prescription from my heart attack and wants me to get lab work .didn't even want to here what problems Im having. To me they feel pretty serious, but not sure how to get him to look into my issues. My town doesn't have an ENT. Have to go 70 miles to Vegas for that, and only vehicle I have now is a 1982 Yamaha xt550. Not really a 70 mile highway bike lol.
Well hope they get your ears cleared also. My nose hurts so bad I can't even touch it today. Not sleeping, feeling lousy is really beating me up. Getting sick of being sick

I’ve almost always had tinnitus so I can’t blame Covid for that, but the sinus issue has been an ongoing struggle since Covid and so far have found no answer despite my search to find one. So yes I can relate, but I have no answer for you.

Three years + out. I developed Tinnitus with Covid but that doesn't really bother me anymore. It's just there. I developed a headache on my forehead that I can feel by touching my skin. Sometimes it gets horrid - thinking it's sinus but don't really know. I've tried long term migraine meds and had bad reaction to them. The short term meds work sometimes and sometimes Tylenol Sinus and Headache med works. Weird - like so many symptoms.

Sorry you’re having these troubles with your sinuses and ears. I had Covid in December of 2022 and still have no taste or smell. Did you loose yours as well? I’m currently having acupuncture to try to regain these senses, but as of yet, nothing but an occasional smell here and there. I will also be looking into the Stellate Ganglion Block to regain taste and smell. They are injections of lidocaine into either side of your neck and you take the shots in separate doses on different days. I’ve heard it helps some people, but at this point, I’m willing to give it a try. Wishing you all the best in your health.

I have no balance issues just mucous in my sinuses and blocked Eustachian tubes which I believe contributes to the tinnitus it's terrible sometimes louder than other times. Hearing aids help mask the tinnitus but are a pain to wear all the time I have had tubes placed in my ears to try to help with sinus drainage which now I am getting out more mucous to the back of my throat I just don't see any help in how doctors are going to figure anything out with so many different weird symptoms. I continue with ENT visits, and I am in two long haul clinics with Cleveland clinic and Cincinnati medical center so far, no answers. I just live day to day and try to stay active but it's hard to do luckily, I was old enough to retire from my job because I cannot do what I once did.

Hi i had covid August 2023 and now I too have tinnitus, sever sinusitis with blocked estachan tube, fluid in inner ear (which has subsided 5.5 mths later) with Vertigo occasionally and 1 ear drum that still doesn’t function ( doesn’t pop) I Have had ENT Appointment all they addressed is the sinusitis with nasal saline washes and steroid medication sprays to nose. Ear still hurts told me it will heal in time and Tinnitus issue was just dismissed. Had 2 x CT scans full hearing test with audiologist, last test said normal hearing which is incorrect. Just been dismissed completely. Tinnitus is horendious somedays unbearable. Sleep issues now which tends to make Tinnitus even worse. So now I’m trying Diazapam for 2 nights and stopping, I find the tinnitus has got quieter and at least get a few good nights sleep. However I don’t want to keep using diazepam due to addiction. I have read a few article on Melatonin 2 mg could also help with tinnitus and is not addictive Has anyone tried this??

I developed Tinnitis with high frequency hearing loss in both ears 2 years after Covid and the shots. My left ear is worse and my ears buzz constantly. Audiology told me they diagnosed many new patients with Tinnitis after Covid and the Covid shots. I am learning to live with it and I try to filter out the annoying noise.

I recently started taking a 2 mg dose of Melatonin Extended Release at night, but I have not noticed a big difference. I am following the flccc protocols to detox from Covid. The supplements on the protocols have helped my heart and lung issues, except the GGO on my left lung now was Stage 1 lung cancer.

I'll never take another vaccine or booster. I had a very mild case of Covid in 2020, and took 2 Pfizer and 1 J&J booster in 2021.

I hope you find something that helps. I run a fan in my room at night to help me sleep.

Anyone had burning on tongue and throat down to the stomach after COVID? I’ve had it for approximately 2 1/2 years and it’s at the point where drinking liquid antacid is the only way to relieve the symptoms and that’s only a temporary solution. Sleeping is the worst time for symptoms. I wake up all night from the burning. Need to nap several times a day to make up for lost sleep. I have depression and anxiety.
Doctor’s say it is from Long COVID but they don’t have any suggestions to make it go away or relieve the symptoms.
Husband doesn’t understand and wants a divorce.😢
