I'm confused about what my loop recorder is actually doing!
I've had a loop recorder for about 18 months. I'm very confused about what this is actually doing or just supposed to do. If I haven't recorded my own symptoms (such as fast heart beat when I wake up at night), is it still monitoring my heart's activity? If not, it seems like I'm sleeping through any other symptoms that may arise and they aren't recorded! I know, I need to ask my doctor. I want to ask here first so I can understand this and not feel stupid! Thanks for any advice.

Just a thought- was your Loop Recorder the type that has to have a button pushed when you're symptomatic or does it record 24/7/365 without any prompting?
I knew this ilr was a terrible idea from the start. "My" ep told me this was the only thing he would do as my next steps. I tried to get a second opinion and they said the same. The first few weeks, they were clocking me at 150-160 and calling me but I wasn't feeling well due to getting cut twice for the implant and getting covid the next day. Just for me to pass out a few weeks later and they claimed to have picked up nothing. The ep nurse asks me why didn't I hit the button...I'm supposed to unlock my phone, go to an app and hit a button to record while passing out?! I thought it automatically records the way they were calling at first. I called the nurse weeks after because I wasn't feeling well, my watch was even clocking me at 160+ and that's when I learned they upped my threshold to 170... so deceased is my magic number for auto recording. They only picked up 170+ once while I was sleeping. My last loc, (that they didn't get) was me waking up from sleep, tried to stand up and I was out...I highly recommend never implanting a loop recorder unless it's always recording, you have a good ep AND you have access to your results. My ep is acting like they haven't found anything this whole time when they were calling me every week, asking if I'm ok. Id rather have gotten another smartwatch and finding an EP that cares.
Hello you were wondering of what year was recorder was doing hey I thought the same thing I needed to have a loop reporter cut in my first one it did not catch anything after 4 years the battery went out to put in my second week reporter finally on my second loop recorder they found that my heart was pausing and doing weird and arrhythmias because I needed to keep that thing with me all the time and I needed to keep a diary. Here we keep on telling me you just had tachycardia or a bradycardia. On one of the episodes I had a 3-minute pause. Several different and arrhythmia is on it now they say that's why I'm on Metropol and my cardiac medicines. Don't give up keep fighting and keep reporting symptoms.
I had my Linq loop recorder implanted about two months ago. During the monitored period after the implantation I had multiple palpitations and one AFIB. When AFIB happened, the doctor's office called to tell me that I was in AFIB. Nobody calls me about my palpitations even though I'm sure that recorder records everything, so it is obvious that the doctor decides what they want to monitor and what is not important and I accept that. After all, our treatments are all about surviving as long as we can, not making us young again. 🙂
You don't need to have it removed. They can turn off the transmission.
