@egibbens Vaccine questions really ought to be discussed with your medical provider(s) because every person's situation is different with respect to risks from RSV, vaccine risks, medical history, etc.
Here is what Mayo Clinic and the CDC have to say about the vaccine:

As for me, I have several risk factors for severe illness from RSV - age, asthma, another lung disease called Bronchiectasis, regular exposure to young children and older adults (both well-known sources of RSV infection.) I chose to be vaccinated and had less reaction than to any other vaccine in the b=past 5 years - a moderately achy arm for a day.
What have you been advised?

Thank you, Sara,
I asked on my father's behalf. He has asthma and found out that Medicare doesn't cover the RSV vaccine, nor does his supplemental medical insurance. Did you have to pay out of pocket for your vaccine?
My best,
Elizabeth
Medicare does cover the RSV vaccine if his physician recommends it. I know that there has been a lot of misinformation about RSV and other vaccines the past few years. Part D covers immunizations including RSV, Flu, Pneumonia, Shingles, Covid, Tetanus, and whooping cough. I got mine at a pharmacy (not even the one where we fill our prescriptions) and they submitted it right to Medicare. There was no charge for administering it either. Some friends were told at their clinic that they would be charged an "injection fee" if the nurse did it - they went down the street to Walgreens and got it free from the pharmacist.
Here is the word directly from Medicare.gov:
