Nerve pain?

Posted by myringo @myringo, Jan 15 6:00am

Hi everyone Has anyone experienced chest and back pain after liver Transplant. I am almost 6 months post op spent weekend in hospital because it felt like a heart attack went to back down spine and lower back. They checked me for everything but Thank God all was good. I am still experiencing nerve pain throbbing along my spine I just finished nivestim shots before all this occurred. I haven’t had a shot since Friday night but when I move to walk to do something and come back to sit down the nerve pain starts and then will slowly fade. I am at a lost at what it could be but it’s painful when it happens. Do any of you ever use any muscle rub or cream I need a safe relief but don’t know what to do. I have an appointment next Monday with hepatologist will be asking about this. Thanks everyone.

@myringo, As I read through your recent messages, I can see that you have been having a lot of bothersome/frightening issues since your liver transplant. And as I read, I can't help but wonder if your (I assume) local doctors are communicating with your transplant team.

Did you ever read the possible side effects for the Nivestim? The symptoms that you have experienced are among those listed. - Who prescribed the Nivestim shots? Does your transplant team know that you are prescribed this medication? Does your transplant team know of your hospitalization? Don't wait until next week's appointment to inform them. And while you are contacting them, ask them about a safe pain relief. Is that something you can do today?
