Lol Bo is my Service Dog and loves the snow. He gets his mobility harness after the first of the year since that’s when he turns two—Great Pyrenees and all giant breeds’s growth plates don’t seal up until they are two and I don’t want to hurt him.
He’s a character and we enjoy him. My husband has a golden lab named Cooper as in DB Cooper and yes, the name fits. Lol
Vote is my husband’s hearing alert dog. He helps James by barking when his phone rings or anytime there is a need and James didn’t hear it.

Jim, at the time I was actually taking less OxyContin and I was in Percocet 7.5mg qid-5x day for breakthrough pain. My pain was at a 8 or 9 24/7.
The reason they were trying to lower it had nothing to my pain. It was strictly due to pressure from the DEA on the doctors in Casper, WY where my pain clinic is located.

I think the DEA has way too much power to interfere with the Drs' treatments.

Hi @rseago87 I'd like to welcome you to Connect. So you suffer from two distinct types of headaches now? Migraines, which you already were having and starting last fall, TACs? I am very sorry for your suffering. Linda, my wife, has developed a headache disorder in the last year or so. She has not sought treatment. She says it is not a migraine and she believes it is caused by barometric pressure change. Not sure you'd be interested but she has been taking two remedies lately. The first is a tea for migraines, called Shifa Turmeric Headache Relief Tea (OK, she says it's not a migraine but this stuff does cut the edge off her pain) and a product called Clear Headache (both on Amazon). Both of these give her some relief. Just tossin' it out there. If you are interested in the tea I can elaborate on the steps my wife does to make/take it. Hope you get relief. I know that when Linda has a bad one, it's terrible! Best, Hank

@jesfactsmon Thank you for the welcome! That is correct about the two distinct types of headaches. The migraines respond well to my preventative and usually respond well to abortives if I catch them early enough. I've dealt with those since I was 12 so I've had lots of years to learn how to manage those and work with my doctor on finding the right medications for those. The TAC headaches are very different from migraines. They did not respond to any form of pain relief in the moment or things like moving to a dark room or laying down like a migraine would, they are side-locked and accompanied by autonomic symptoms on that side only like my right eye being very photosensitive and my right sinus feeling very irritated, and they are fairly short (45-90 minutes/attack with at least 7 of those throughout the day) which is really hard and too short to really treat on the spot anyway. The main goal at this point is to try to control them from a prevention standpoint, hence the nerve block that I will be getting this Tuesday to see if that will help. I will look into the two things you mentioned though. Thanks for the suggestion! I would certainly encourage your wife to go see a doctor. If they can figure out the kind of headache, there are some really helpful treatments out there.

@rseago87
Yes, I did read a little about TAC headaches and how they come as a burst and then go away. Very unusual, I was not aware of headache behavior like that. Well I sure hope the nerve block helps to pre-empt them. What a hassle having so many in a day, just about shoots any ability to do much other than enjoy the relief in between as you wait for the next onset. Yuk!

I'll mention your suggestion to my wife (who never uses a computer or smartphone, hence why I am on here instead of she -she's the one with health issues up the wazoo) about discussing her headaches with her doctor. She is not only drug averse but doctor averse as well (as am I, I must admit). But it's something to look into. Good luck on getting some relief. Best, Hank

I’m hoping things get better today. At least the white scenery is an offset to the pain and exhaustion.
