Help for COPD

Hello, I’m wondering if anyone has been prescribed Roflumilast for their COPD? If so, did you have side effects?

Yes, I have Stage IV COPD , tried Daliresp (Brand Name) and had horrible side of effects, mostly mood and depression. Did not stay on it long and during the time that I was on it did not feel the benefits of decreasing secretions. With that said, I believe that one should give their system every opportunity to improve symptoms of this horrible disease and its worth a try. Just stop it if you develop symptoms that are not bearable, and then again you may not have any and it will work great. Good Luck

Yes, uma1 I currently take it. I’ve been on it for 4 months now. I started the first month at 250 mcg and am now on 500 mcg, taken once daily.
The only occasional side effect I experience is diarrhea. I wear a pad for the just in case days.
The future will tell if the diarrhea becomes more common, otherwise I’m going to continue its usage.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am already dealing with severe anxiety which has made me reluctant to begin. I realize it’s different for everyone but I’m afraid of worsening what I’m already dealing with. I appreciate your thoughts.

ktf, thank you for your reply. I also was prescribed 250mg. As I said in another reply, I’m having a terrible time with anxiety and have been afraid to begin the medication and make it worse. It sounds like you haven’t experienced depression, etc. from it. I can deal with some diarrhea. Obviously, it affects everyone differently so I must make a decision soon. My COPD is worsening and I have to somehow get it under control. Thank you again…there may be some others who share their experiences.
