Has anyone used CBD oil for chronic pain? And do you have results?

Posted by rensacb @rensacb, Jan 22, 2019

I'm a chronic pain suffer of 35+ years. Scoliosis is the culprit. Not a disfiguring curve but non the less painfully destructive. Almost every disc is bulging from 3mm to 6mm. I've had 2 spinal fusion. C 3-7 and L 4-5. Have 4 nerve root impengements with spondylosis in some areas and stenosis at interval from neck to sacral. Take steroid shots when I can with positive results for a few weeks. Always have Norco 5mg/325 ready if needed. Unfortunately I have found the best way to keep pain down is to lie down. So most of my days are spent on my bed. Any suggestions?

Do you not mean by NOT eating sugar?

You’re obviously very lucky! However, I really do question why you have been part of a forum of people who genuinely have chronic pain due to physical structural problems. I wish your suggestions were sufficient for me! I exercise, have a good diet and am in chronic pain each moment. I could go on but am actually feeling quite upset after reading your post. Those of us who are trying to live our lives as best we can with this invisible yet serious condition do not appreciate being told to just exercise, cut out sugar and have a good diet.

@janpb I actually found the comment from @grannyzoo about sugar very helpful. I know it’s a suggestion that has been around for a while, but sometimes an old suggestion can come around at just the right time to catch your attention. I am a chronic pain sufferer and am going to start paying more attention to sugar.

I would appreciate a post of the specific product name and name of the company that markets the CBD product that relieved your pain. If it worked for you and others reading this post, I would consider giving it a 30 day personal trial.

I ordered CBD products with low THC for pain relief. It sometimes helps me to sleep at night, but not much pain relief during the day.
Unfortunately I don’t really know from which company to buy. I read on this site that people have good experiences, but never see where they bought them or what the brand name is. You just go to any place that says they sell CBD product?

CBD products are ubiquitous!!! The problem is (1) what's in them? (2) where and who made them? Without that information from a reputable source, the CBD phenomenon today is a repeat of the old snake oil scam. I'm waiting for the medical doctors and researchers at Mayo Clinic to publish their opinions of CBD.

@rensacb I am so sorry to hear of your situation. It is one that I am in, too. I am bedridden due to arthritic knees that give me less pain when laying down, and degenerative disc disease. I also have fibro. I am like you and have less pain when lying down I am glad the shots give you some relief. I am also thinking about CBD oil for the pain and will be very interested in your outcome. Sending prayers your way! ....Karen

I had severe back/spinal pain to the point of dragging one leg. Severe osteoarthritis with bulging discs etc. Injections did not help, doctor wanted to do “ major surgery”, never gave me any type of Rx for pain ( which I would have refused anyway). Researched CBD online, tried some for 2 months, no help until I tried CBD with THC ( capsules ) bought online from a reputable company. After two months of one capsule a day ( recommended dose was 2 per day, but I am petite so did not want to try that much), I was nearly pain free. I still have some pain but walk at least one mile a day when possible ). CBD oil was no help. I will not smoke it either

Thank you!!! I'll select a product and experiment with it for three month before scheduling surgery to repair a malfunctioning right shoulder rotator cuff. Keep me in your prayers!!

I use a CBD salve, 1000 mg. and it helps my severe pain from sciatica or arthritis first thing in am.
It's expensive, but helps me tolerate the pain, which I might add, the doctors and therapists have not been able to do. They can't even explain what is causing the pain! I live in a state where this type of product is legal.
The reliable source I use is Sisters of the Valley, based in CA.
