Post Nasal Drip Solution

Posted by robbie44 @robbie44, Sep 15, 2023

I don't have a question really, but want to let it be known that, after many years of sleepless nights, I have a med that WORKS. Previously I was given Ceterozine which didn't do it. BLEXTEN 20 MG HAS SOLVED A YEARS LONG PROBLEM. No more nights of spitting out mucus all night long. Eurika.

Isn’t it sold only in Canada?

I have Googled it and see that there are three other variations of it, so hopefully, one of those might be available in the US.

It seems it's sold in Canada and in Europe, but not the U.S. I didn't realize that. It's possible, though, to order it through an online Canadian source, though you may still need a prescription. Mine is covered by our health insurance, but likely you'd have to pay for it.

“Simply Saline”* spray works - for me.
ENT doc said it’s completely safe; I can “bathe” in if I want.
…using it before I get into bed….breaks up ‘post nasal drip’ within seconds.
Inexpensive and easy.

My sister says there is a Simply Saline with Menthol that works great. I'm going to try it instead of just the saline version.

My MD tells me as stated hereon, that it is an antihistamine, a variety of which I have already tried, and let it go at that!
Thanks,

What was the cause of your PND ??

I had such a bad hacking cough that I pulled a rib muscle while having a spell. Now it is worse and hurts like crazy when I cough. Will try Vic’s on my feet.

My first post nasal drip didn't happen at night. It was during the day only. I've been coughing - boom boom boom - during the day only, practically non stop. But not at night. Then I noticed that when I take my constitutional hot shower, it's not happening. So I started doing steam inhalations from a large cup of hot tea. And after a while the post nasal drip went away. This was a few years ago.

Now the cough tries to come back, again during the day only but not all the time. Just once in a while so I am not motivated to do anything. But may be I will. Am here to pick up some ideas. Nice to meet you all.

Mine was a constant runny nose due to year round allergies. I finally found a good ENT doc who prescribed Azelestine nasal spray in a.m. and Mometasome nasal spray in p.m. Both are, imo the gold standard of nasal sprays! Along with using a neti pot when needed, I haven’t coughed, sneezed, got sinus infections which I was plagued with in over a year.

I have a solution to stop my drip.

It may sound weird, but it works.

Spread Vicks Vaporub on THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FEET. Put socks on. Go to bed. No drip.

Apparently, it works because of nerves in your feet.

It works for me. Try it, you have nothing to lose.
