Need Help Getting To Hotel Post Surgery
I am traveling to Rochester from N. Michigan for eye surgery on Dec 21st. I have to travel alone for this surgery and Mayo won't release me post surgery without another adult present. I just need an escort to help me get from Mayo to my hotel. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hello @chadmunger and welcome to Mayo Connect. I recommend that you contact Mayo Clinic's concierge service to see what help they might be able to provide you. Here is the website with information on how to contact them.

I hope that your surgery goes well. Have you been waiting a long time for this appointment?

Hi @chadmunger, I hope you saw the helpful posts from @hopeful33250 and @cheyennepeterson. Have you been able to find a service that will facilitate the transfer from surgery to the hotel?
I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn that is connected via tunnel after a bronchoscopy. The hotel sent a worker to meet me and Mayo was ok with it. I didn’t need assist in room. There were a couple hiccups-Mayo’s escort took a long time to get me lobby to meet them.
You could ask if they still do that if you don’t need someone with you for a few hours.
Thanks so much for this tip - it's very helpful!!

Are you all set for an escort after surgery on Thurs 12/21. I live in Roch and would be available to help on Thurs. I am a Mayo volunteer, though escort is not a service the volunteer offers, I am available to help if needed.
Laurie
Hi Laurie,
I was scheduled for a last minute procedure for tomorrow! I am searching for services, and was pointed to this post. I know you are a volunteer, but Would you be available tomorrow to be my responsible adult after a light sedation?
Thank you!
