AS disease inflammation my spine and body medications

I have a autoimmune disease that effects my spine joints and ligaments its called Ankylosing Spondylitis Its a lot like MS. I depend on the anti inflammatory medication and I also do a injectable Biological medication. My biggest concern is not being able to take anti-inflammatories also I will have to stop my injection for at least a moth prior to the surgery because it slows you immunity and healing. That will cause me a lot of pain and sickness. But now that I have things in control and know what is happening to me the weight loss honestly is extremely needed. It was really hard to do much of anything before I found the right doctors and correct med so I have put on a ton of weight. I was extremely fatigued and could hardly walk or move much without issue. The best thing for AS is to keep moving and loosing the weight I will feel much better and will be able to do stretches and yoga things of that nature. I'm just concerned as far as medications. Anyone else dealing with theses issues like arthritis etc.

I, too, suffer from inflammation, painful arthritis and the compulsion to eat to soothe myself. It was not until I found Overeaters Anonymous that I learned how to stick to a healthy meal plan, lose and keep my weight off, and deal with my problems in other ways. I am now happy despite still having physical problems. The program helps people before, after or instead of surgery and there are no fees or dues, just voluntary contributions. Meetings can be found at OA.org or oaphoenix.org and has them in person and virtually. I pray you find the help you need.
