Phlegm in my throat and post nasal drip after Covid
Ever since I had covid in January of 2022 I recovered from the virus but I was left with a constant phlegm in the back of my throat and post nasal drip that will not go away. The feeling of having mucus in the back of my throat actually gets worse when I try to get rid of it by coughing. I have been given steroid inhalers, albuterol, allergy medication, but none of these work. The mucus gets worse especially after I eat. I've never felt like this before and it all started after covid. Can anybody relate to what I am going through?

I have had all the scans and tests, went private ENT, nearly 6-7 times.
I have tried a lot things nothing helped.
Am just try to cope with it.
I have run out of ideas.
Just praying that it does go away soon,
It doesn't sound too optimistic for me,
It’s 2yrs 1 month since I had covid, but you had it longer and still suffering from this.
I know we have to remain positive but we only human..
Just keep praying!!
I have been to 6-7 different ENT, MRI Scan, chest scan, all the medicines I could get including home remedies, nothing works
Still same!!
Run out of ideas,
I hope you find success.
My 17 year old has severe long covid and fatigue is his most debilitating symptom but the mucus is right up there. It's so bad. He is now working with a functional med doctor and she had him do a GI Map stool test. Turns out he is positive for H. plyori as well as 3 other dysbiotic and overgrowth bacteria. And those 3 bacteria are also involved in mast cell activation!!! We go back in 3 days to talk about the results. I am hopefully that by treating his GI stuff that his mucus will improve. I think there is a huge relationship with the gut and overall health and would encourage anyone dealing with this to look for a functional doctor.
All tests done by traditional MDs (and we have been to LOTS) have been "normal" and there has been nothing normal for him in 2.5 years.
I know, people look at me weirdly.
Hang in there, hopefully it will go away soon.
You mentioned bacteria. I wrote a post about a month ago about how I was put on antibiotics for an intestinal bacterial infection. As soon as I started taking the antibiotics, the thick sticky phlegm stopped and has not returned. So so grateful for that.
Yes. I've had this and stomach issues. I get a mild fever about once a day. I've lost 30 pounds and feel tired and week.
Oh my gosh. You made my day! I can't wait to tell my son. This has been my hypothesis for a long time while we have waited for WEEKS for the GI test results to come back and get back in the with doctor. I can't wait for his appt on Tuesday! Thank you so much for letting us know! I'm really happy this worked for you!!!
I am currently getting over Covid and I have to sleep almost sitting up because when I lay down the drainage in the back of my throat choaks me so I can't sleep.
I am currently recovering from Covid and my lips have started going numb and tingling. Burning like you are getting over dental work and I also have the heart burn a lot. This stuff will make you feel like you are losing your mind.
