I suffered with the burning mouth and after almost 3.5 years a smart PA at emergency room recommended I get an esophagus scope which I did. Diagnosis was silent reflux and Barrett’s. Serious treatment for reflux with ppi 40 mg twice daily, sucralfate liquid 4 times daily ( 30 minutes before meals and bedtime) and baclofen 5mg 4 times daily. Following all reflux recommendations for living and eating on line and only drink water. Upper body elevated at night. Progress was not quick. I could begin to see a little less burning at 30 days. After 60 days got off the pain pills and pregabalin had taken for burning mouth. I am a little over 4 months out. When I had a little burn break thru during day I take pepsid complete chewable which works quickly to reduce burning. Now I am taking Nexium 20 mg twice daily, sucralfate liquid at night 10 ml, and baclofen 5mg 4 times daily last dose at bedtime. With the Barrett’s I most likely will have to continue reflux treatment but thank goodness I go without burning for many hours before a slight burn shows up. Next best thing besides stopping the burning is how relaxed my body is. Can’t stress enough how reflux treatment takes time to see results at least for me.
I am at 2 and half years going on 3 and I know exactly what you mean. Where are these groups on Facebook. I am also learning how to deal with it. Do you know how you got this? Are you taking anything that helps you with the burn?
