Supplements
Hello everyone. Has anyone here ever tried any of these supplements like, " Nuphoria ", " Nerve Renew", or R- Alpha-Lipoic-Acid". Would like to see if someone has actual experience with them. Thank you.

I think that last article mentioned na-R-ALA had slightly more bioavailability than R-ALA (60% vs 43%). I think they are both good but one is a little better.
I'm not sure your doctor made a mistake. The 0.25 mg dose of Xanax is a low dose and is fine taken with gabapentin. I would suspect the gabapentin as causing your side effects more than I would suspect the Xanax withdrawal.
John - thanks for the info you provided. I will check out the links you provided. Many of us rely on you and the other mentors for information and I can't tell you how much I've learned about PN just from the knowledge you and others have to share with us. Very much appreciated. I definitely want to know more about the R-ALA. Again, John, thanks.
Jerry have you tried using ice socks to help with burning feet? They helped me when my feet are burning in evening.
Hello John. I went to my EMG today and nothing g was abnormal. Just did below knees and feet. My MRI revealed L2L3L4L5,S1, all have bulging disc but none herniated, also L5L4 have osteoarthritis, and L5 and L4 have foraminal stenosis. So I suppose it to be SFN, or from Back. Don't see Neurologist until March. Thoughts?
Hi Jerry, I’m wondering if there may be some pinched or compressed nerves. Might be something to discuss with the neurologist.
Hello John. Thanks for response. You mean pinched or compressed nerves in back? Or lower legs, ankles? Would pinched nerves give me a regular EMG? I thought if EMG was regular that this would mean Small Fiber Neuropathy? Also, what brand NA-R-Alpha Lipoic Acid do you take? Also, I was reading on Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy, that small fiber nerves are very robust and do heal. Have you ever read that? Thanks. Jerry
Thanks for reply. I do have a ice boot. It does help some.
I was thinking pinched nerve in the spine where you have the bulging discs. I believe that can cause nerve pain in the legs and elsewhere and depends on the nerves that are involved.
Thanks John. I kind of thought it would be from my back also. Reason being is that my feet NEVER burn at different times. Always the same time. So let's say it was small fiber neuropathy, how would both feet burn at same time always? Surely one foot can't tell the other , hey it's time to burn. My MRI does show my 4 bulging disc pressing on my sciatic nerve. Only way to fix this would be back surgery I suppose. What Brand of the lipoic acid do you take? Thanks. Jerry
