TAVR and TEVAR together?

I was recently advised that I will need an aortic root repair (5.0cm) along with replacing my aortic valve. I would really like to do the TAVR and TEVAR procedures together. The short recovery times are appealing. I was advised the TAVR may not be great as it pushes the old valve out of the way, and the calcification may prevent a good seal, and a "hand sewn" valve is much better. But, from what I have read, i would really like the minimally invasive procedures.

Whose advice was it that the TAVR might be risky in your case, and why are you second-guessing it just for the sake of one-stop-shopping? I ask my question that way because if the risk is considerable, you may end up with complications that preclude any further 'easy' surgery, more risky advanced and invasive surgery, and a much longer recovery than the one you're hoping to avoid.

If it helps, my 93 year old dad, already with a bypass in his neck to run around the only good carotid still with a pulse in it, just had a TAVR this summer. He came through like a champ, and the results so far are nominal. And, if the TAVR doesn't quite work for you, you'll have the invasive surgery and longer recovery anyway. Personally, I would try for the low-risk, short stay approach and hope for the best.

Thank you. My cardiologist prefers open heart in my case. I am quite healthy besides this problem, mid 50s.
I'm going to push for TAVR. Curious if anyone has had the Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) done during the same surgery as Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR)
