I have a SmartVest. I like it because it was recently redesigned, very lightweight and easy to travel with. Also, it only has one hose instead of two. I have found their customer service to be excellent.
Wow! Reading these experiences makes you stop and think! Sounds rough! I'm not a small person but I am thin so these stories are good food for thought.
Has anyone tried any type of handheld device and if so, how does that work?
I find the Aerobika is very effective instead. My BMI is too low and my ribs all show so I will not consider a vest. Thank you for sharing the down side of the vest. It must help some people but it is not for everyone.
I started using a hand held percussor when I had pneumonia and could tell it helped loosen the phlegm in my lungs. I have continued using it for my bronchiectasis/MAC and it does help me.

I have an Afflo vest. I, too, am small - 100 lbs. No nasty side effects. I use it when nebulizing and taking my arikayce. Insurance and Medicare paid.

Also made my GERD much worse and ineffective for sputum
You can return it and get money back pro rated for how long you had it
