I appreciate the information. So far I have been lucky that my PN only very rarely effects my sleep. I take a 10mg Melatonin gummy which helps me get to sleep. I am at the very beginning of this med regiment. Frankly the side effects posted for all three of these (Gabapentin, Lyrica and Amitriptyline) along with sometime questionable effectiveness cause me concern .

@madmouse43 Understandable. I’m glad to hear the PN isn’t interfering with your sleep! I haven’t found anything to help enough to justify the side effects (with the exception of Amitriptyline, but to your point, whether it actually helps SFN is questionable). I must caution against using Lyrica. It caused a bout of despair that I have never experienced before. Thankfully I was able to recognize that it was a side effect from the medication and stopped immediately but it was scary. However, I know some people use it with no issues. Everyone is different. I have found some relief in my PEMF therapy mat. Have you tried things other than prescriptions?

I have been on Amitriptyline for almost thirty years. I started with 5mg and worked up to 50mg to ease the pain after two spinal operations, which left me with four rods and screws. I had crushed L1. The Amitriptyline gives me a good night's sleep, but sadly it doesn't ease my neuropathic pain in my feet.
