Hi everybody! Thanks for responding back. I still consider my self new to technology, although I used one of the 1st computers in Pasadena. It was the size of two refrigerators on top of each other. Sometimes what I do is copy paste into my email all I wrote b4 I post it. Then I don't feel like I'm talking to 'air' if it disappears & I can come back once the techno problem has been worked out & copy/paste post later. Freakers ~I'd like to know what kind of hypnotherapy you used too. Was it self hypnosis, bio-feed back or tapes? I've heard some people shouldn't try certain types of hypnosis if they have any susceptibility to, or worry, about mental health issues. It can cause a break (of varying degrees) in some people. I've heard of tapes you can listen to at night, but I think that's more subliminal messages. I know I have a long road & would like to explore different methods.

Hi, @freakers. Thanks for your post and sharing what is helping with your pain. Sounds like the hypnotherapy helped a lot.

Can you tell us more about what was involved when you did the hypnotherapy?

I know the feeling. Sometimes it's the cat! Since she is eighteen years old she gets anything she wants & gets away with everything.

@charlton,

I think you may find the following discussion worth your time to read through and to jump in on regarding peripheral neuropathy,

My initial post states it was a one on one with the hypnotherapist for 2-1/4 hours

Hi 19lin. I'm to the point that I can't take this much pain. Surgery or
pills are a waste of time. I've always said , no offense to people that are
suffering with cancer, but after 33 yrs of this I'm backing in to a corner
with no way out. This is like cancer but no dr can tell me how long I have.
I'm now looking into marijuana use in my state. The govener is
decriminalized as of Jan. 2017 and there is a large push to make it legal
for medical use. I want to try it but if my dr tested me I will lose him,
we've had that discussion. I just don't know if it would help, so I'll wait
and see what happens in November when the people in this state will be
given a chance to vote for or against medical use. Both bills won't make it
until Jan. The federal government. has all the the Drs scared because of
the misuse of narcotics. To many people pretend to be in pain just to sell
there medicine, I've seen it add 4 to 500 to there monthly income. This
puts narcotics in the wrong hands. Excuse me for rambling I'm just lost and
don't know which way to turn. briansr
Hi Jim
Yeah my family physician is how I got on the hydrocodone then fentynol and wasn't supposed to be that long but I kept putting off the surgery til I couldn't hardly do anything. Now I had the surgery done at Mayo and I live in Kansas so surgeon is the one who came up with the withdrawal plan they told me I could go somewhere else. If it gets too rough I may check out a pain management center.
My friends and some family have offered to get me some medicinal pot, that's another option

Pain control and management is a rough edge for most in this group. I went to a pain control place just once. The guy offered me pot, said that nothing else but fentanyl would help. Then I tried hydrocodone, and had hallucinations. So I am back to super tylenol and super ty PM at nigh, total 4000 /day, . The rest of the time I just swear under my breath.

@oldkarl,

I can appreciate your last sentence, "The rest of the time I just swear under my breath." I must admit, I do this quite often myself on my bad days with pain. Unfortunately, sometimes I think it is under my breath but in actuality it is loud enough for others to hear and I get some strange looks.

Qh, yes. Especially in church

@oldkarl - I'm really glad that I have been seeing a pain specialist. He knows more about pain than the other doctors I see, and he's been a great listener. He's had me try several medications, and pushed for the spinal cord stimulator implant. I think that he still has a few on his list for me to try if I need more at some point. Finding a good doctor - the phrase reminds me of a verse, blessed is the man who finds a good wife - for he's found a good thing. I've been fortunate to have had some great ones. PCP, neurologist, pain specialist, hematologist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, ENTs, surgeons, speech therapist, psychiatrist, therapists, cardiologist, internIst - have I missed any?

Maybe pot would be what you need.

Jim
