Wow. Thanks so much for this information. I do have a few questions. So, I have had tons of tests (including the obese you just mentioned) very recently. Will they make me do them all again? May I ask why you need a 3rd ablation? (Or what was it originally supposed to help with?) The hotel sounds great. Love that they could get all those tests in one day! I’m about four hours away as well! Montgomery, AL. How long did it take you to get your initial appt? Thanks again.

I started the process 5 weeks ago. My initial call to them was followed up by a phone interview with someone taking all my info about my case, my symptoms, my insurance and Drs. Info. Then they said the info was being sent to a triage team to decide if they would take my case and that could take two weeks. After two weeks I called to check on my status and they said they were still waiting on some records from my Dr. ( they handled getting all my records). Two weeks later they were ready to schedule an appointment and they were able to get me in the following week cuz there was a cancellation. As for your questions about the tests, yes, I also have fairly recent tests done by my doctor, but they wanted all new tests so they were the most up-to-date results which I thought was a great idea.

A little history, I am 65 years old and have had a fib for about 20 years. The first several years weren’t bad at all and were controlled by medication and a blood thinner. I needed my first ablation in 2017. I had a good three years or so, without any a fib, and then it slowly started to come back. I had a second ablation about a year and a half ago and it just plain didn’t work. It seem to be getting better and he was reducing my medication over the months but then it started to get worse again and then he had to increase my medication now my heart been doing a lot of racing pretty fast heartbeats . He told me he wanted to do an ablation soon the day after I had my second ablation, I had a stroke. I am fine. It was taken care of quickly and I had no residual effects. Needless to say, I am nervous about a third ablation so I thought this would be a good time to get a second opinion , my doctor was on board with that idea. So now I am at the point where I must make a decision about which doctor I will go ahead with. I believe I will go ahead and have that third ablation. It’s just a matter of who will it be with . I know I’ll never be cured, but I will keep doing whatever it takes to keep this at bay for as long as possible I will probably need an AV motivation ablation. Eventually my mother and brother have already had that.
