Has anyone been using Tymlos?

How did you go? Did you get the assistance and the treatment? I hope so. If you finished the treatment, and are willing to share the results? If you already shared in another thread, please tell me where I can find the info. I'd love to know. Also, did you take any other osteoporosis drugs before Tymlos?

I wish I met the eligibility requirements for Radius Assist for Tymlos. One of the eligibility requirements is "Patient must have neither insurance coverage for nor access to other coverage for TYMLOS." My policy covers it, but only 40% of the cost. I can't pay 60% out of pocket. If my insurance provider did NOT "cover" the drug, I would qualify to get it for free. It's truly baffling.
I'm looking into alternative assistance programs, because I really need this treatment. I had one Prolia shot, and stopped for three reasons. 1) Prolia rebound scares me. 2) I experienced side effects that I was not willing to live with. 3) It makes sense to use a bone builder first, and really do I need to build bone. My DEXA scores are L femoral neck, -3.2, and lumbar -3.7. From what I've read on this forum, if you can tolerate the side-effects of Tymlos, the gain in bone density can be significant. I really need to give it a shot (pun intended).

@hopefullibrarian I have insurance but got Radius Assist. I think they mean total coverage would exclude you. Double check with Together with Tymlos, where you can have a personal rep.

My DEXA was also -3.5 when I started Tymlos. Jumped right in with 8 clicks. Few, tolerable side effects. I inject every morning and keep moving. I’m on my 12th month. Yes, lost hair for a while but started taking Live Conscious Collagen Peptides with my coffee once a day. Hair loss over and hair really thick again. I get aching bones in various parts of my body but tolerable and it goes away. My 12 month checkup is in mid-December so I’ll see what the Doc has to say then!
