Feeling very worried

Back in March 2022, I had an MRI due to a heart related issue (no longer an issue) and it picked up a spot on my lung. I've had 3 CT scans to monitor it and the last one indicated a slight change. This past July, it was decided that it needed to be removed. The exact words of the thoracic surgeon, "the change is consistent with cancer." He said I would be scheduled for surgery in August. Each month, I call to see if I have a surgery date and each time I am told, I am "not a priority." It is now the middle of October and I have a lot of anxiety around this. I'm not sure what to think? Should I explore other options... at the very least, a second opinion?

I would definitely get a second opinion. Without a biopsy the surgeon can't possibly know what he's dealing with.

I would get a 2nd opinion. Praying much for you right now and for you to get hold of a good doctor to move foreward. Have you had pneumonia a lot by chance? Prayers & Blessings....

I would get a 2nd opinion. Praying much for you right now and for you to get hold of a good doctor to move foreward. Have you had pneumonia a lot by chance? Prayers & Blessings....

I have not had pneumonia. I don't have any symptoms. Just feeling very frustrated.

I agree with other members that you should find another surgeon. You definitely are a priority.
The good thing is that you had the MRI and the spot was found early.
I have gone through the same this past year. A pulmonary nodule was found on a chest X-ray after I had pneumonia. It was followed with scans for 2-3 years until this spring when it had grown slightly and the official impression was suspected adenocarcinoma- they are slow growing. I had a lung biopsy that confirmed it followed by 3 radiation treatments. It had not spread to lymph nodes. Radiation hopefully is curative. I’ll have another follow up scan.
I hope you will have a similar experience.

I know of many who are waiting on treatment for up to three months. I would enlist your family provider to see if they can help in moving it up. Prayers for speedier treatment!
