Dealing with ED.

Can anyone tell me the cost of a penal implant? Sidenifil (Viagra) and Cialis (tadadefil) are not working for me anymore.

Thanks, I’d appreciate that!
A vial with 12 doses cost me $360.
I live in Central California. I bought it in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Be nice to use it because of desire and not my bank balance.

My urologist said that you loose sensitivity with the implants, but I don't know anyone that has it.

I did get my implant AMS 700. I am about one month into the healing process. My healing is text book. I have started recycling. No such loss of sensitivity. I came back to the discussion to ask if anyone experienced a natural erection trying to emerge after deflation. I deflate and then after some minutes the flaccid position is stiffer (firmer). I feel the sensation of natural erection qualities. Sorry if I bla bla....

I feel fortunate that I went to an endocrinologist rather than a urologist.

Long ago I had a testicular cyst. After it resolved, I started having erection and other issues which turned out to be low testosterone/free testosterone levels. Maybe that testicle went on strike, I don't know. I was late 30s with the testosterone levels of a guy in their 80s. Levels were barely within the lab's "all ages normal" - but if you looked up what it should be by age group, it was way low.

Endocrinologist started me on clomiphene citrate* and it resolved all of my issues. It's a pill which (generally) causes an increase in your natural testosterone production, which is what it did for me. I've had to gradually increase dosing, but it's still working over a decade later.

*Brand name is Clomid. Last year they bought the generic manufacturer and prices tripled. Endo also gave me a sample of some Levitra, but since things resolved, I never used it.

I have a pump implant, 1st year anniversary. I wish I had done it years ago.
Between medicare and my supplemental insurance, it didn't cost me a penny. It is reliable, anytime, anywhere 24/7. I am the same size erect, but much larger flacid. I have no noticeable loss of sensitivity and I have my confidence, self-esteem, masculinity etc. etc back.

I now have the pump also. 30 days into the healing process. Going well. I started recycling. No more real pain. Just periods of noticeable discomfort. Secondly: after I have deflated and my penis is flaccid. I have the sensation that an erection want to come. And sure enough my flaccid penis is not so flaccid anymore. Storing it because a challenge. I have the AMS 700. All the literature I have read regarding this procedure indicates that a natural erection is not possible after implant. Have you had any feelings or events associated with a natural erection? I thought about accidentally pressing the ball and solution seeping in, but the AMS pump is a tuff cookie. The pumping has to be firm and quite deliberate. Any response.?

Radical prostate removal approx. 16 months ago. I have been thru the pills & injections and neither worked. Right now, I am scheduled for an implant at Mayo, the Titan 3 piece inflatable. What am I looking at pain level, recovery time and any other advise, you would give after having been thru the surgery? Any advise will be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you Jake for your information and recommendations. I am going to deal. I will try the injection as a precursor to the implant. I still have not heard to he cost yet. I do have Medicare and I am 73 years, so penile implant should be an acceptable end remedy that Medicare can approve.

I’m scheduled for an implant Dec. 18 and Medicare covers 80%, my supplement covers 20%.

Thank you Captboat. On August 7th I had the procedure done. Medicare covered my procedure. I am almost 2 months into recovery (or healing). So far, so good. I am experiencing slight discomfort still. I am also noticing a feeling of arouse ment. They say that when you have an implant your ability to have a natural erection is gone. Not so. I can deflate totally. But if I am stimulated my flaccid penis is no longer flaccid. Anyway, my doctor did a marvelous job. AMS 700. 24cm. Most of which is at the root. I wound up with 5+ inches which is more than sufficient. My girth is also quite sufficient. Rigidity is marvelous. Nothing limp about this penis.

I just had a Titan 3/Piece implanted about 3 weeks ago. My cost after insurance was $ 1,340.00 not sure of cost prior to insurance. So far so good on the healing & recovery. The 1st week is miserable, 2nd week a lot better as far as the pain goes. Almost at 3 weeks now and ready for next appt. to start the recycling process. Mayo is an amazing place with great doctors.

I would not call it pain, The 1st week you just feel totally miserable and cannot get comfortable in any position. The 2nd week a lot better but still miserable. I am almost 3 weeks since surgery and I can finally sleep at night and find a comfortable position. Walking around with a partial erection for 24/7 is totally miserable. I did all of this without the pain medication which I threw away, Good luck with your surgery.

Yes, I am happy with the implant and glad that I had the procedure done. For me I think it was more of a psychological than physical need. I just wish I had made the decision much sooner, younger, maybe at the onset of ED. However back then I had no idea what was going on and ED wasn't even in my vocabulary. It is still a difficult topic. Some would rather admit they have leprosy than ED.

You are absolutely right about discussing the topic of ED. My daughter is taking me to the doctor for my procedure. I lied and told her it was a hernia. Go figure...
