Epinephrine for MCAS?
I just wanted to share my experience with my MCAS diagnosis. I went to my immunologist today and I have been having a flare up for months-it’s been incredibly persistent, since I have been ill. It causes incredible internal inflammation in ears, stomach, hips, shoulders, back. It caused my adrenal gland to tire, it’s been bad. Today, they gave me an Epi shot. I literally felt nothing, no shakes, no tremors, no racing heart. But, within 6 hours my joint inflammation is 100% better, I can feel air in my ears 🙏 I can breathe better. I feel so much better and relaxed, my headache is better. I’m going to sleep good. He gave me 2 pens with 2 refills for when my MCAS gets bad. I am getting better. Besides my usual vitamins, my immunologist had me start DHEA, D3, Iron. Long Covid, a hyper thyroid followed by MCAS and a bacterial infection in my spine; my body was tired. I am feeling much better. The doctor’s nurse said that the MCAS patients don’t appear to have visible reactions to the Epi shots(“cool as cucumbers”) but everyone has gotten relief. Lastly, my MCAS developed with my Long Covid or possibly from vaccine. I don’t think it much matters at this point. I’m super grateful for vaccines and I will be getting my mother vaccinated again soon. But for me, I am not sure that I will get a vaccine again. I had big reactions to the 1st, 2nd and last vaccine. They cause me MCAS reactions and they make me sicker than Covid. But, that’s my weird body. Hope this help’s someone else.

I forgot, my main treatment for my MCAS are antihistamines and Singular. I take Zertec sometimes twice a day with hydroxyzine.
A woman from my church developed MCAS following a Covid19 vaccination. You're the 2nd person who I encountered with the disorder recently. So glad to hear you're getting good treatment. Your treatment makes biological sense. Enjoy your relief.
Thank you! Yes. I could have used steroids but with my adrenal gland suffering periodically, I guess epi shots are best for me and now 2 days later, I am still feeling better and better. That MCAS inflammation is so extreme. Besides my ears and stomach feeling better, the relief to my joints is pretty amazing.
