Is there anyone that had estrogen positive cancer, without use of AI?
Is there anyone with stage 1 breast cancer, estrogen positive that had a lumpectomy followed by radiation without any other treatment and has remained cancer free?

@rosa1935 bless you. I too Anastrozole fir 2 1/2 yrs and quit it as it wrecked my hip so bad I could hardly walk or get in the car. I also was in a fog of sorts. I’m 4 yrs out from surgery and hip is all good. I’m back to being me. Blessings to you and hope new med works for you.
👍🏻❤️
I was diagnosed with estrogen + breast cancer in 2015, had lumpectomy, chemotherapy & radiation. Just recently I have been diagnosed with breast cancer metastasis in my bones and not sure where else. I am hoping it is early on and medication can slow or control growth and prevent spread. Not sure yet what my treatment plan will be. Will find out more 8/16.
Did you take AI? What stage was your original breast cancer? Did you have an Oncotype? Any positive nodes. Wishing you the best . May I ask how old you ?
Good luck!!!
What is AI? I did have have an oncotype, not sure about nodes. I don’t think so. My stage was low but the cancer when typed was rapidly multiplying in the high 30% so that is why I was told best treatment would be chemo, radiation and exemestane. I am 59
AI is code for oral anti hormone treatment for hormone positive breast cancer in post menopausal women. It stands for Aromatase Inhibitor and it inhibits the Aromatase needed to produce estrogen. There are three AI’s Anastrozole, Letrazole and Exemestane. they are taken daily for 5-10 years after surgery to limit the amount of estrogen available to breast cancer cells that “ feed” on estrogen.
Only hormone based breast cancers qualify for an Oncotype evaluation.
Yes, I am on exemestane.
Best to you and all of us on this unwanted journey. 🌸
I stopped taking exemestane 2 days . Read an interesting article, tgat I can’t find now, tgst taking exemestane every other day was just as good as taking it every day as ut states in the body working for ages. Im just going to take this twice a week from next week.
