Plantar Fasciitis: How did you get rid of it?
I don't know if this is where this should be posted, but I have a few questions. Almost seems like it goes hand and hand with neuropathy.
Have you had it and how did you get rid of it. I have done 2 injections.. I use ice and ice bottle almost nightly, I've massaged, I've purchased special shoes, and I've worn compression sleeves, plus I've done the night splint.. It just won't go away. I know it's because of the atrophy on that calf.
If you've had it please share what worked for you to get rid of it.

My PT and Pilates instructor did a study on orthotics and found a correlation between neck pain and orthotics. I used orthotics, had to have 2 discs in my neck fused.
If I had it to do again...I would try Pilates and exercises that stretch out the back of the legs along with foot exercises with a PT who specializes in feet.
The PBS program, “Classical Stretch”, has helped me.
Thats so much pain to deal with!…I know a lot of folks who swear by Topricin cream including my sister who has a lot of pain. It’s on Amazon too….the beauty of Fit Flops are they force you to stand up straight by their configuration…..removes the spine sloping and you look and feel so much younger!! Good luck!
This has also been a tremendous help to me. Miranda has some workouts just feet.
Her workouts help with everything!
Does anyone suffer from plantar fasciitis? Do you have any suggestions on attaining some pain relief?
Years ago I had it so bad that I couldn't walk. I went to a Podiatrist who gave me a shot of cortisone in my foot (hurt like crap) and then gave me a boot that I had to wear to bed that kept my foot straight up. Also was told to wear really supportive shoes and to not go barefoot. It was a pain however after 6 months I no longer had any pain at all and it's been over 15 years. If you google exercises there are some that you can do that help as well but I'd have to look for them.
Hi @linda125, the things that helped me most were wearing flexible sock- like splints at night that kept the toes slightly bent forward and custom orthotics. Supportive shoes and no going barefoot as @cindymattern noted above. If I feel a little pain coming back, I wear the splints for a few nights, but it's been years and I haven't had a flareup. I also think that ice is supposed to be beneficial.
Hi @linda125. You may noticed I moved your discussion and combined it with an existing discussion:

I moved it here so you could read through other members' experiences like @cindymattern, @tsc, @casey1329, and @suziesunshine69 and how they dealt with their plantar fasciitis.
@linda125, what sort of things have you tried to alleviate your pain so far?
I’m a walker who saw a foot doctor few years ago because my foot pain was so bad. He suggested for pain, to roll foot on ice bottle. For strengthening, the exercise he recommended was belt stretch. For inflammation, contrast baths of hot and cold. All of these worked for me. The only part I still do is belt stretch, before rising every morning. Good luck!
