I was diagnosed with Central Pain Syndrome about 3-4 months ago. I’m glad to hear that someone else has pain in chest wall, face, jaw, neck, etc. It is intense. My jaw has actually moved. I feel like I’m wasting away due to muscle loss body wide. I keep walking, meditation, socializing, etc. It’s getting harder every day. Thank you for sharing.

Has anyone seen Dr. Rubin with Mayo? He tested me for MG which I fortunately do not have. I still don't know what I have. I need help with these symptoms. My neuro at home won't help me until she knows diagnosis. Terrific!
Has anyone on this forum tried "magic mushrooms" for pain? A friend suggested it but mentioned that it's best to have someone with you to help "navigate" the trip. I did some research and discovered a few things:
The chemical in these mushrooms (psilocybin) is somewhat hallucinogenic. Recent studies have shown that it may help with chronic pain by reprogramming the brain's persistent pain channels. The effect may last weeks, months, or even a year. With that said, the chemical is classified as a class 1 drug, the same as heroine and cocaine. Currently, these mushrooms are illegal in most states. I guess you have to "know someone" to get them.
It'll be interesting to see the responses. Thanks.

Yes I just tried a therapeutic dose of Psylocybin 2 days ago. I did it on a clinical pathway with a registered psychologist. There is a pathway put out by John Hopkins hospital . You have 2 prep talk sessions, the dosing day is literally almost all day . Then afterwards you have 2-3 integration talk sessions to figure out what the experience means and how to apply it to your pain journey . I had to buy the mushrooms online and had to make the tea myself as they are not fully recognized here in Canada for pain . They are for major depression and PTSD. There are very encouraging results coming through the literature but it’s early days. Unfortunately my experience was rough as had a lot of nausea and pain …a very unusual reaction , so I’m an outlier.
Hi Tasha. Tell us about yourself.
