Exercises For Long-term Health After Knee & Hip Replacements
I want to find a good video that I can exercise with. I have had both knees and hips replaced and I want to hopefully stay limbered up, lose a couple pounds and walk without a limp. Anyone with ideas out there?

I'd like to invite @naturegirl5, @johnbishop, @dixiedog, and @jojo58 to this discussion to share some of their experiences with joint replacement and the recovery process.
@kars, many of the exercises discussed in previous joint replacement conversations are centered around post-op recovery. If you are comfortable sharing, how far out are you from your replacements? Are you looking to get your joints more functional, or for exercises that are joint appropriate but for overall health, not rehab? I also noticed you had posted your conversation in the Osteoporosis group, were your joint issues a result of osteoporosis?
Hi @kars, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @JustinMcClanahan and others. I have only had my right knee replacement done but I do have osteopenia and degenerative arthritis and am also concerned about regular exercise and building my leg and arm strength as much as possible. I did start another discussion that I think you might find helpful on exercise videos.

I'm trying to exercise more so that I don't need to have anymore joint replacements if that's possible. I also started focusing on losing weight a few years ago and I'm only sorry that I didn't do this 20 years ago when it probably could have done more for me. If you need a little kick for help losing weight, I urge you to look into intermittent fasting. It was a lifesaver for me. Here's a discussion on the topic.

Yoga is a great exercise. There are many free videos in youtube if you don’t want to go to a studio

My last surgery was a knee replacement done in February of this year. I have had both knees and hips replaced. I am very active. I still do everything I ever did, just a little slower. I don’t need to lose weight, just keep limbered up, so that I can stay active. Yes, the joint issues were osteoporosis related. I have always liked working out with a video and am looking for one that would be appropriate for me. Thanks
I was able to join YMCA free through my insurance. They have video fitness classes. Tai Chi might work for you or some of the chair yoga classes

There are a lot of free videos on UTUBE.
