Has anyone had a biopsy of their eyelid margin?

A few years ago when getting an eye exam the Doc said the lesion under the lower eyelid was a stye but I was sure it wasn't. It started out as a small white lump like a white head and about 6 months ago I had a biopsy done and it is a basal cell cancer. Of course it has grown from the small white spot and I will have surgery to remove it. Am scared because it is so close to the eye. Not sure if the dermotoligist who does Mohs surgery should do it or an eye surgeon? Baz10

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this, Baz10. BCC is, of course, the skin cancer with normally the lowest risk and best outcomes. I’d consult with either a MOHS or oculoplastic surgeon and ask their opinion. They’d be able to recommend a sub-specialist from the other category if they felt it best. Good luck and please let us know how it turns out.
