@2ndlvrxplantmom, thank you for all your helpful posts. I'm sure @mwb37 is relieved and grateful to connect with another transplant mom, whose child has had 2 transplants.
I noticed that you wished to post a URL to UNOS with your post. You will be able to add URLs to your posts in a few days. There is a brief period where new members can't post links. We do this to deter spammers and keep the community safe. Clearly the link you wanted to post is not spam. Please allow me to post it for you.

arqui02000 do not lose faith, I will be praying for you as well. Unexpected things happen to us that are very difficult, but also unexpected good things happen to us. Also it is ok to feel afraid.
These days it is no more rare to hear about 2nd liver transplants. It is really taking hold in transplant medicine for various reasons. Yes, it is rare to hear about 3rd transplants but that even happens.
My friend give it to God & live your life. You will most probably get your 2nd transplant when the time comes unless maybe you are very well advanced in age. Keep in close contact with your coordinator & strictly do whatever you are told to do.
Thank you for your wishes to me I keep my faith all the time, next August 18 I will have my doctor appointment and until today everything is fine with my level

@arqui02000, It has been a while since you've posted any update? I hope that your liver is maintaining satisfactory level and that you have found out some answers concerning a repeat transplant during your August appointment.
I hope that you are feeling up to sending an update.
You can count on my prayers.

My son had his first kidney transplant when he was only 10 years old and I, his mother gave him her kidney. The kidney last 18 years and then my son was eligible to have his second one from his Dad. How blessed we both matched him and Dad's kidney last 15 years and now he is on his third kidney transplant that he got from a cadaver. He is doing ok but his issues with his own bladder and had to have a permanent catheter put in just under his belly button and have it changed one a month by our local urologist. He works part time and also is going back to school but he is having troubles getting on medical insurance that will cover the doctors at the Mayo Clinic and also some of his anti rejection medicines. Sure hope we can find someone who has this same problem finding adequate insurance that covers all the needs to be cover with the transplant medicines and doctors. We live in Nebraska and doctor still in Minnesota.
@caringsoul86, the more personal stories I read in the Transplant support groups, the more it underlines how unique everyone’s story is. And your son’s transplant included you and your husband in more than a caregiving role. Remarkable that you both matched when he needed a kidney and then a second one.
With respect to finding insurance coverage to assume the costs of ongoing medical needs, has he met with a transplant social worker for help?
