pristiq allergic reaction?

Visited Mayo and was put on Gabapention and Prestiq 3 weeks ago and Gabapention i could tell started working right away.
However this week i can barely sleep due to itching something terrible....Feels like bugs are crawling on me.
Messaged Mayo and they called me and said to stop taking as i may be starting to get a allergic reaction to it as it is building up in my system.
I am on my starting dose of 50mg.
Has anyone else had this issue?
My head...neck,ears and eyes are itching like crazy.
Shout out to Mayo nurse for calling me personally after i messaged doctor through the portal.
They said doc would get in touch with me tomorrow when she gets back in to work.
I am bummed because i was starting to feel like my mind was starting to finally slow down some.
Hopefully i dont have to start over on something else as i feel it was starting to work and my options are limited as i am a poor metabolizer of most meds i have tried according to the results of my visit.

Still itching...Was told it could be Gabapenten and not the Pristiq which i started both at the same time.
So the wait continues to see if the itching stops.
With my luck Gabapenten will be the culprit.
Starting to feel dizzy on day 2 of not taking Prestiq.
Thankfully i am only 3 weeks in on both meds.
Im tired of the spinning wheel of meds and these meds i could tell were working better than anything else i have taken....Figures!!

Still itching...Was told it could be Gabapenten and not the Pristiq which i started both at the same time.
So the wait continues to see if the itching stops.

Could you send another message asking for something for the itching? There are over the counter and prescription options. Good luck, I'm pulling for you!

Itching is getting better after stopping pristiq but withrawals are kicking in.
dizzy...ears popping
and brain zaps.
only 3 weeks on 50mg and withdrawals like this.

Hello...Has anybody had just itching from Pristiq and that was it?.
I was 3 weeks in and had bumped up to 50mg from 25mg and felt real good along with 300mg a day of Gabapentin.
Then i started itching in my upper body mainly my chest...face and ears like a bug was crawling on me.
So we stopped Pristiq and upped the Gabapetin to 600mg a day....Well now i am irritable and want to be just left alone.
I noticed it and others have as well.
So after some soul searching i decided the itching was better than feeling this way so the doc is starting me back on 25 mg of Pristiq and staying on the 600mg of Gabapentin.
I am worried about a full blown ellergic reaction with hives...swelling throat etc.
Being that i stopped it as the itching started i dont really know if it would have got worse?
So was hoping somebody here just had/has itching and that was it?
I thought the itching was bad but feeling this way is way worse.
I did read where benadryl and Zyrtec ( prolly spelled both wrong) can help but forgot to ask doc when i called him and see him in 10 days anway.
Has anybody tried taking those to help itching from pristiq?
I am a CYP2D6 poor metabolizer so it is frusterating that finally a med combo helped and a stupid side effect like itching stands in the way as my med options are limited now due to being a poor metabolizer.

Went back down to 300mg of gabapentin and on day 4 of 25mg of pristiq...Using Claritin for itching and seems to be helping.
Fingers crossed.

@da69 I just started Pristiq about a month ago, over the last couple weeks I've been scratching myself until I'm bleeding. I could not figure out what was going on so I was talking with my husband and it hit me, starting Pristiq has been the ONLY change. My scalp, hands, feet are non-stop itching. I'll be reaching out to my doc today to start d/c the med.
