Reclast Infusions: Side-effects & Recovery time
I just had a reclast infusion last week and have had serious side effects. I had the worst flue like aching for 5 days then my lefty arm became full of inflammation in the wrist, elbow and shoulder which caused extreme pain and I lost the ability to straighten my elbow. Ultrasound showed huge amounts of fluid throughout the arm. The right arm is now starting to have the same symptoms. The pain is excruciating. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Neither the ER doctor nor the Dr. who prescribed the procedure knew what to do to ease the symptoms. Both arms from fingertips to shoulder are swollen and neither elbow will straighten. Anyone else have adverse reactions to the reclast infusion? If yes, how long did it last?

I did not have arthritis until 2weeks after the Moderna Vaccine which was exacerbated by the Evenity and now after my first Reclast. My Rheumatologist says it’s called “reactive arthritis” and should minimize.
I went to ER with horrible spine pain that lasted a month and still have issues with pain. My infusion was 2 years ago.
Hi ! I use calcium citrate from Lamberts (3 pills/day) and K2 from BetterYou (2 sprays/day). I was also went to a nutrinionist and I am following a specific diet with a specific intake of calcium and protein every day.
I have had 6 migraines with scotoma after receiving my first Reclast infusion. I am 2.5 months post infusion and had another migraine today. I had migraines in the past but prior to this had not had one for 5 years at least. Has anyone had this issue?
Needless to say I will never go through this again. Pain in jaw, head and back of neck. Severe pain in sides of my back, bladder and sternum. Ran 102 temp for two days and day 3 temp 100.8. I have had nausea and vomiting for three day and no appetite at all. This was worse then any chemo i ever received.
I agree the pain was horrible and only explanation I got was I had a reaction to it
Prednisone causes bone loss. It's a crazy drug to be using if you have osteoporosis.
I have osteoarthritis in my spine, along with spinal stenosis as diagnosed before my first and only Reclast infusion last April. Since the infusion, I have had severe pain in my lumbar spine and sometimes hips, along with sciatica. The newest MRI of lumbar region showed a lot of worsening in lumbar area. I think Reclast has a lot to do with this and I just hope it will modify over time, I mean the pain. The stenosis is forever.
Bless your heart
I am on day 7 after Reclast infusion. This is third day of swollen, painful, unbending wrists. First one knee and now another swelled up with aching and inflexibility. Headache and nausea began on Day 1. Since then I have had the flu-like symptoms with excruciating body pain, muscles stiffness and cramps, joint pain. I have been too fatigued to go to work. Also, too confused to fill out a simple application. Right now I'm on a 1-hour wait list with doctor to hopefully get some beneficial advice. I already tried water and Tylenol. Does anybody have home remedies?
