cataract surgery and iixdra
After cataract surgery have had terrible problems with blurring when I move my eye/eyes...have tried multiple treatments...artificial tears, blood serum drops, steriods, gabapentin....etc......not really sure if treating dry eye....drs. don't really know what the issue is!
So trying iixdra drops now....anyone have a problem with burning and blurring (burning all the time)--only has been 3 days...will it get better????

thanks again--I really appreciate your input... I just had them inserted 5 days ago---Nothing is better and I just don't like anything in my eyes!!!! Not sure if he can or will take them out---he talked about 3-6 months, NOT 3 weeks!!! I would have liked to try that. Did you use the Lotomex AND Systane ointment??
I will see him today to talk. (I have seen several drs.) this is the one that did the cataract surgery
mtpeony, Do you feel like it is your intraocular lenses sense cataract surgery itself OR your eyes are just irritated? It sounds like he put the permanent ones in....they can be taken out if they do not work I was told. The temporary ones are harder to remove....I guess because they are made of collagen and not silicone. My cataract surgery went well. Weeks later I developed the grittiness, inflammation, tearing, eye pain, blurriness, extreme dry eyes....even when I closed my eyes they hurt. Yes, I used the Lotamax and the Systane eye ointment at night, Restasis twice a day and Systane eye drops all day long. My doctor said, lets try the plugs. They worked within hours. I'm wondering if there is some type of allergic reaction in your eyes or do you just have ultra sensitive eyes? Are your eyes blue? Blue eyes tend to be more sensitive. I pray for relief for you. I know how frustrating it is (with other health issues for me) not to have answers. I'm so sorry this is ongoing for you.
P.S. What did you find out? I care.
Since the dissolvable ones seemed to be hurting me and not helping (only 5 days!!) he tried flushing them out....so hopefully they flushed out!!! So I am back to one eye that hurts and blurs and no answers... so upsetting.
There is nothing to see, so they really don't know what to do.
I had cataract surgery a couple months ago, and I have several issues. First of all, I have black lines in my peripheral vision on both eyes, as if I’m wearing blinders. This is a complication that they say usually goes away over time. I am waiting. And like you, I have this weird sort of flickering or some thing that seems to occur mostly when I move my eyes. It’s so upsetting because I did this to improve my vision, not to make it worse!
Thanks for sharing...I totally understand your stress...What does your dr. say about this "something" or blur when you move your eyes...mine is mostly in one eye---all the drs. keep blaming dry eye...yet they don't see my eyes really very dry!!! I too have been WAITING for all to settle down, but I am worn out and nothing seems to be changing. The one eye hurts like a have an eyelash or something in it and does the blur thing. Tried the dissolvable plugs last week and made it worse and the procedure to get them out made them ever more sore!!!!!!
Of course, they all say Lotomex and heat and drops!!!---6 months--no help
What does your dr say??? Where are you located??? And yes, me too, I want my old eyes back!!!!!!! (never had any eye issues)
I have been wanting my “old” eyes back for the last 9 months after cataract surgery. I believe that I was subjected to unnecessary cataract surgery. This seems to be a common problem because of greediness on the part of these ophthalmologists. I’ve been to 3 other ophthalmologists for help. I feel like I’m losing my sight and am so depressed over it. I wish these doctors would be better monitored to put an end to this criminal practice of taking advantage of patients and their medical insurance!
beesmom--I feel your pain. ...and your anger and depression... I find all the drs. say the same thing since they have no answers. What do your drs. say???
