One thing that I can say about covid is that everyone experiences things differently but there are some traits that are very similar one of loss of appetite definitely would have to say goes to the multitude I myself doubt this past holiday season Thanksgiving Christmas New Year's with covid was bedridden for 7 8 weeks could not eat anything except for a banana maybe a couple of bites of like chicken noodles but everything may be sick you really have to find that one thing that you like that you can tolerate and try to keep it in you to get as some nourishment to your body I lost literally a pound a day I think we figured 48 lb in less than 45 days since the beginning of covid I've lost well over 178 lb total. I have strong cravings for sugar ice cream and tea my heart and prayers go out to everyone who reads this and he has already commented may God be with you rest take it easy all this other things you're worrying about right now it does not matter your health and well-being and getting yourself back on track is what's the most important take care of everyone.
It's so funny you say that about the tea I went through the same thing where I've never liked pickles unless it was like in potato salad or something and when I had covid and started developing the long covid I would eat jar after jar after jar of pickles and then the other one was the ginger I'm not a big fan of ginger but my husband had bought me this peach ginger tea and that's all I wanted is like your body craves that Ginger and it craves that fermenting of the vinegar which I've read does help fight against the covid cell in your body it's like alkaline foods if you can stomach fermented foods get it in you vitamin c bananas help a lot but be careful because it does contribute to constipation as well but thank you you hit the nail on the head have a great day and I hope you're doing better.
I’m 6 months into LC and now this - lost my appetite and feel queasy after meals. Losing too much weight. What’s the best tolerated protein/carbohydrate supplement?
I am two years post-Covid and still have no taste or appetite. I have lost over 20 pounds and, try as I might, cannot gain weight. I, too, have nausea. I do eat. I’m sorry I don’t have any advice to offer other than to let you know you are not alone in this!
A Nurse Practitioner cousin suggested pea protein, because it is easily absorbed by the body. She specifically recommended Arbonne FeelFit Pea Protein Shake (Chocolate) and Arbonne Essentials Green Balance (fruit and vegetable concentrate powder). The chocolate pea protein powder helps mask the taste of the greens powder. The powder comes in vanilla also. I don't think it matters what brand, as long as the nutritional value is there. I was losing 1-2 pounds a day before I started the pea protein. It stopped the weight loss, and actually helped me put on a few pounds. I found that drinking these a few days in a row was like a 'reboot' and after a few days I was able to eat more of other foods. I still have the powder, but have only had to use it a few times since the initial reboot, if my weight gets too low.
Elemental Heal by Dr Ruscio and the triple therapy probiotics have helped me. Slowly I am getting better
