Lingering dry nasal passageways

Posted by amwiz41891 @amwiz41891, Mar 12, 2022

Hello, at about two weeks into Covid and now still at 11 weeks, I’ve had no moisture/mucous in my nose. If I get anything out, it’s stringy white and opaque. I’ve had other post Covid issues that come and go…from lip tingling, Covid tongue, dry mouth, loss of smell and taste, regained but not 100%. Going to a third ENT and a long haul Covid clinic in the coming weeks. Thanks

thx - not taking any meds. plugs r good for extra tearing eyes, but I have no mucus whatsoever.

Actually, the plugs are good for dry eyes. My eyes hurt they were so dry. It helps hold the moisture in your eyes. Ask your doctor about using vaseline in your nose. I know there is a lot of controversy these days about vaseline. Go to a Whole Foods store and ask them about adding moisture to your body and what they recommend. It sounds like Covid dried you out. I am so sorry as this has got to be miserable. Prayers that you get some relief.

Has anyone experienced very dry nasal passage (almost no mucus), dry mouth, dry eyes, clogged ears (which make me very dizzy). If so, will it get resolved over time? Help!!

Have you been tested for sjogrens? I had it before Covid; post Covid, it has grown claws! You may want to check it out

I've rarely had dry mouth, but after having Covid I have it severely ever night, and throughout the day.
Will it ever pass?
Plus a list of other side effects after Covid, it has definitely effected the syringomyelia I have been dealing with for over 30 year's now.

Thank you for mentioning this. My mouth is so dry, my tongue is stuck to the roof of my mouth when I wake up.

Hi Colleen. Could u please help me find out if amwiz41891 (@amwiz41891) ever recovered from his/her condition of extremely dry nasal passageway. I am suffering from the same symptoms, and it's driving me nuts. If recovered, how long did it take? Please help. Thx.

Did you ever recover? I've been suffering the same symptoms for six months and even got inferior turbinate reduction surgery for the swelling. It's been two months since my surgery and my nose is super dry. I did find that pushing wet tissues (use sterile/filtered water) up my nose for long periods led to a partial decrease in swelling and let the small amount of mucus that my nose still makes accumulate.

What's your current status? Did your symptoms ever improve? I've had the same symptoms for six months and got inferior turbinate reduction surgery for the swelling. At two months since my surgery my nose is still super dry. I found that pushing wet tissues (use sterile/filtered water) up my nose for long periods of time led to a partial decrease in swelling and let the small amount of mucus that my nose still makes accumulate. I'm looking into acupuncture to help with the dryness.

I have dry eyes, dry mouth, swollen and dry nasal passages, and clogged ears. My skin is also very dry. I have been tested for sjogrens three times.
I’m sixteen months post Covid and have seen many, many doctors. Artificial tears, and Xlear nasal spray treats the symptoms somewhat. I found saline nasal spray just makes me drier.
Like all the rest of you, I wonder if I will ever really recover.
Acupuncture did not help me but I think there’s a very broad variance in providers.
