Tingling/numbness in face, arms and legs. Walk isn't normal

Posted by lynn32 @lynn32, Aug 14, 2022

April 27 my right foot wouldn't walk right. One week later started feeling a weird sensation on my tongue. Then my right side of my face started tingling/numbness. Went to er thinking I might be having a stroke. Two CT and MRI came back normal. Days later I Gradually started feeling the tingling/numbness down my right arm. Then on to both sides. The sensation comes and go. My walk comes and goes as well. July 1 I started feeling really different. I was so fatigued. Two weeks out of the month of July I spent the majority time in bed. At one point I was somewhat lethargic. I've been to ER 3 times all test coming back normal. Had another MRI. A sono on my neck. A cortisol test and lots and lots of blood work done. ALL coming back normal. My local neurologist is trying to pinpoint it but not having much luck. I had a very mild case of Covid in November. Could this possibly be long Covid? I started taking black seed oil two weeks ago and do feel better but I'm still having tingling/ numbness that comes and go. Anyone else experiencing these symptoms?

Hi @briam, Welcome to Mayo Connect. From what I’m reading you’re experiencing symptoms of tingling and numbness in your neck and head. And you’re also experiencing forgetfulness or getting confused? Have you had this evaluated by a doctor?
Sometimes nerves can become compress when muscles or tendons are inflamed do to an injury. That can be something as simple as spending too much time with your head bent down working or moving ‘just right’ while exercising. Do you remember injuring your neck or back with a fall, doing anything that has jarred your neck, been reaching over your head for extended periods of time? That type of activity?

You mentioned you’ve been fine but had an ‘internal’ on your gut. Does that mean you had a colonoscopy or some imaging where you were lying on an exam table perhaps in a position where it’s not normal for you? Did this numbness, tingling and forgetfulness start occurring again after you had this done?

I don't if this will help. My left shoulder has gone numb, and I questioned my Neurologist about this. He thought I could have a pinched nerve, on top of PN.
I don't have an answer. I only want to help you know it could be something else going on.

Contact your and see what he/she thinks is going on with you.
Prayers,
Pat

I have a similar problem except it is limited to the right side. The tingling started after prostate surgery 2 years ago. During my hospital stay, I recalled blood was taken on the right arm every 3 hours. Sometimes I was stuck a number times due to the difficulty of finding a vein which led me to believe that a nerve was damaged during the process. However, the Neurologist ran a number of tests with no conclusion. I try to manage each occurrence by massaging my finger tips and arms which causes the tingling to subside.
